First one I have ever seen. I bet she would stick out like a sore thumb in a flock of blackheads.

    Favorite pintail decoy

Aside from my recent purchase of a Jode Hillman Pintail, this is my only other pintail. Made by Thomas Chambers in Ontario circa 1900 in mostly original paint with obvious wear. Very rare species for the maker and Ontario as a whole. [inline pintail.jpg]

Great work everyone. Once we get out of this cold snap I hope to get down to the garage myself for a little dust making.

    A little deer action. NDR

Great buck Jode! Yesterday seemed to be the day in terms of deer action. I, unfortunately, had to work but trail cams revealed that the 150" 8-point I was after walked by my stand at about 7:20 yesterday morning and then proceeded to chase a doe around. It was the first time I had seen him in...

Upstate NY Black Duck- Any Ideas?

Anyone have any thoughts as to the carver of this decoy. Originated in the St. Lawrence region and could have come from either side of the river. Pretty interesting helmeted bill carving and a very slender and shapely neck. Appears all original. Has tack eyes.

    Chainsaw reviews

Absolutely. I think I paid about $15.00 for my sharpening kit and it is pretty full proof, just make sure you use the right file. I personally like to have extra chains and just swap out and then sharpen after the cutting is done. But either way is adequate.

    The beauty of a hen

Definitely a hen Mandarin! Too cool. A drake was shot in eastern Pa on the opener. They are certainly around as they fit right in with wood ducks and most likely make the migration as well.

    New gun?

Personally, I feel if you can find, and they are out there, a lightly used SBE I you will have not only a great gun but a little more money in your wallet at the end of the day. I have owned 2 Benelli's (an M1 and an SBE I) for the last 14 years and with regular maintenance I think that in my...

    Another storyline

Excellent write-up. Nothing beats a fall morning and some drake wood ducks. I wish they stuck around here a little longer.

    Chainsaw reviews

I use an Echo for the light duty work. I bought it at Home Depot 6 years ago and have no issues with it starting, running, cutting, and etc. Only issue I due have is a leaky oil chamber that is a pain, but I can work around it. For heavy duty work, I use an 18" Husky. Can't beat their new...
