    Cabela's Demise

I used to be a loyal customer but quit doing business there about the time they stopped offering the Herters Foam decoys-this is about 15 years ago or maybe more. They used to be a Made in The USA store but everything went China or worse. They became nothing more than a walmart. Darrel Wick

    Lund Ducker

They are nice but just keep an eye on the riveted seam where the floor meets the transom. This has been a bit of a wet/leaking area for them. I had one for years but always used my Sport Boat or Alumacraft Ducker instead. Gave it to a friend.

What was your first set of hunting decoys

Victor wood Bluebills. About 14 of them. Used them for everything and they worked. My Dad would have bought them in the 1920's. Still have them.

    Alumacraft Ducker-Air Boy Motor mounted

Personally, I'd love to see mud motors banned up here. Seems to be the Extreme hunters that have them and most of these guys are clowns. I have most always paddled but on occasion use my Grumman Sport Boat with a 6hp. Hunt more of the "Motorless" areas now and tend to meet more hunters than...

    Alumacraft Ducker-Air Boy Motor mounted

The man in the photo is the one who I was hearing years ago. I met him recently and he told me about these motors he had. He said they were really fast on the ice and that you had to stop them a long ways from open water or you'd be going too fast.

    Alumacraft Ducker-Air Boy Motor mounted

In the late 60's and early 70's I would hear one of these motors on a little marsh we hunted. Always seemed like it wasn't moving but was really loud. Thought this might interest some. Darrel

    What's the toughest knee boot?

I use Lacrosse ankle fit neoprene-because I can't get the USA rubber ones anymore. Light and pretty durable. Aside from hunting ducks, we do a lot of deer hunting on foot and they are great. You can feel a branch under foot before it breaks. Darrel
