Cool IL duck hunting video from 1919

What a great glimpse back in time, to a time when it was all so much simpler to hunt. I agree with what so many others have said. No fancy camouflage; no 3 1/2" autoloaders; no LED lights on their boats...... I always said I was born 100 years too late. I found it ironic that some of their...

    NDR--Upland Gun

I know you're looking for a 20 gauge but check out this nice little 28 gauge SxS : http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=483528540 I don't think its a bad price either. Hmmm.....

    NDR--Upland Gun

I have the Franchi 620. Its a joy to carry afield. Shoots 3" shells. Screw in choke tubes. A little unique in loading/unloading but easily mastered. If I recall correctly, the 48AL does not shoot 3" shells; however, I plan on getting a 48AL in 28 gauge shortly, since the 28 gauge does not...

    Best Value In Cork Decoys . . . . . ?

I'd like to purchase a dozen or so cork decoys to use in Indiana for the upcoming season. I'm thinking a dozen puddle ducks, and maybe 6 diver ducks, probably Buffleheads. In your humble opinion, who offers the best value in cork decoys ? I know you get what you pay for, to an extent, but I'm...

    Scull Boat Hunting

I appreciate everyone's input. I'll probably watch for a used scull boat locally and give it a try. Sounds like a trip back to days gone by.... There seems to be a lot of those for me as I age..... Thanks !

    Scull Boat Hunting

Who has actually hunted from a scull boat ? I'd like to get some feedback on the experience from people who have actually hunted out of a scull boat.... How do they handle weather and rough water ? How successful is scull boat hunting compared to layout boat hunting ? Thanks ! Fred

    Washing decoy bags

I usually just brush my canvas bags with a stiff bristle brush, then hang them from the rafters. I also keep a dehumidifier running in my basement/garage. They can be bought pretty cheap used and they keep moisture out of the basement/garage. You'd be surprised at the difference they make.

    Plastic Goose Decoys

Ironically, I just bought 2 goose flutes. I got one of them in the mail today. The other one should be here the first of next week. One of them is a Big River Goose Flute, too. I've never used a goose flute before. It blows a lot different than my vintage P S Olt goose call. Sounds like...

    MLB Chuck Huff Sneak

I bought a MLB Wigeon this past November. I actually bought it from a family member of the owner of the original MLB company. Having used modified V's and Jon boats mostly, it took a minute to get used to the rocker this boat has; however, after running this boat most of the season on a 320+...
