Day two... less fog and wind, still not many ducks flying.

Well the wind changed direction so we picked up to try another spot. When we got there we didn't like the conditions so we packed it in. We saw mostly Buffleheads and Brant. Fog made visibility really tough. Hoping for better luck tomorrow!

The wind has died off and the fog has gotten thicker. Hunting is slow, slow enough that we can indulge in a duck blind delicacy!

I arrived at our lodgings earlier this afternoon, my brother has been here since Saturday morning. He managed 1 brant, 1 bufflehead, 1 black duck, and two redheads before a nasty cut on the foot of one of his two drahthaars ended his hunt early and required a trip to the vet for stitches...

By the smiles on his face in the photo with the banded Brant and while running the boat, that boy is 100% hooked for life! Congrats on a couple of awesome hunts! Do you decoy many Black Ducks into those rocky areas?

That is a moral victory in my book any day! More often than not a 30 yard flaring pass is the best look I get on Black ducks. Great pics and story, thanks for sharing. Who makes the Bufflehead and Black duck decoys in your pics?
