Tuckerton seaport and Forsythe Refuge....

Stopped at Allens Clam House in New Gretna and enjoyed a bucket of steamers!

Good call! We always go there when we stay in the area to hunt a couple days over the holidays!

There are always a lot of shovelers in Forsythe inside that impoundment. It's not a bird we bag every day around the state, but that area pulls them in. You can hunt quite a bit of that refuge, and there are some good areas there close to where you are staying. There are also some ramps from Absecon north, sometimes just a sand wash at the end of a road. Try going out Ocean Ave in Absecon to the end, I think you can launch there. Great Bay Boulevard in Tuckerton also has a good hard pack sand launch area, it's out a couple of miles, you'll know it because the bridge in front of you goes to 1 lane, it's on the left just before the bridge. All good areas for brant, black ducks, and bufflehead (and some other stuff). You're better off doing what you're doing, the puddle duck hunting is very slow along Delaware Bay marshes. You could also go a little south and launch at Corson's Inlet, there is a good ramp there and you can access a lot of marsh and back bay areas from there. Good luck and have a good time.
