I have 2 Remington 870-s that have been handed down my grandsons . I am gunning with a Benelli SBE2 and it has similar feel and point as the 870. The Benelli Nova is same stock configuration for more reasonable price.

Todd Smith is related to Reg Smith. I think Reg was Todd's grandfather. Todd brought a Reg Smith canvasback to LIDCA that was repainted as a blackduck. He said that once canvasbacks got rare on Long Island the solution was to repaint to blackducks. Joe

I wear an Onyx inflatable that had auto inflate feature. I stepped into a hole went down onto one knee and stuck my hand down to keep from going under. Damn vest inflated immediately. Just as advertised. I removed the auto actuator and now rely on pull handle.

I cut black plastic one gallon plant buckets into strips for Old Squaw tails. Durable plus quick to add to decoys. I pick them up from the bay by the tail.

The drake back had a comb raked through thick white paint on the back. Once it hardens, black is over-painted and sanded off leaving the striations.

Just finished the decoys I present annually to the South Shore Waterfowlers Association executive board. They contribute a lot of their time to the organization and is it just a way of saying thank you. This year I did Buffleheads from my gunning pattern.

Steve is correct. Al McCormick used a paste made from cork sawdust and spar varnish to smooth the bodies on his cork decoys. Joe
