I've worn hip boots my whole hunting life. I walk a lot of marshland and I've thought it was easier with hip boots. I wear jeans under them when warm and Gore-Tex / thinsulate pants or bibs when colder or raining. Seems a lot easier when nature call too. If the only way to keep the doctors...
