In the words of Arnold - "I'm Back". Mark Wo is now history and the Mark W you all know and love has returned. I must have screwed up somehow - again. Thanks for the help Eric.....

Thanks for the input. I may be in a different spot than you. Already have a 14' boat that is just more than I need. I also have 2 other duckboats and access to one more. I've been thinking about going smaller for the past coupoe of years and this year it is time to make the change to...

I wasn't very clear. The current 15hp is a short shaft outboard motor. A 1996 Evinrude that only has one tilt option. That tilt just isn't enough to get me through shallow water. My current boat weighs in at 250lbs. That is at least 100lbs more than some of the boats I have been looking at...

I currently have a 14' boat that works well but I want to downsize. The last few years my hunting has changed and dragging this boat around is already a chore for me. I am trying to find a 12' semi V jon boat (is this what they are called - has a pointed end and not a square end) Thanks for...

I have two other duck boats. A poke for paddling into small places and a Hoefgen that I have a mini longtail for already. I really want to be able to sit in a chair and not on the bottom of the boat. Done that with the old Alumacraft ducker I had and do it with the other two boats I have...

All good questions I should have put in the original post. 1. Plan to trailer it. Already having issues lifting my 100lb flipover ice house into the pick up bed. 2. Absolutely want to be able to stand and shoot out of it. 3. Want to have a nice hair with a high back in the boat 4...

Thanks Carl. As I mentioned below, I probably hunt 30 days a year and maybe 1-2 of those with a companion. I have to start thinking about when I hunt solo more than when I might hunt with someone else. Mark W

Considering I hunt 30-45 times/year and only 1-2 time with someone else, I am mostly considering a boat for solo hunting. It has to be light and has to have a shallow draft. I don't hunt muds and weeds but just shallow areas. Lots to learn here, thanks for the input Mark W

After a very frustrating season, it is time to rethink a few things. Mainly my biggest duckboat - 14ft Alumacraft V hull with a 15 HP long shaft motor. Have had this boat for years and has worked well. My favorite place to hunt is getting to tough to get to using an outboard motor and that big...

    Duckboats.net Thank you Eric

I have been a member here for as long as the site has been around. Made many friends here, hunted with a few of them, Ice fished with a few, camped with a few and shared stories with many over the years. Seen a couple of good buddies from the site pass on to a better place. One person in...

    ISO Phoenix Micro Poke Boat

Have you looked at the regular Poke or the Poke Maxi. I have the 12' regular kevlar version. Weighs 22 lbs and can carry pretty much everything I need. Wish I could have found a Maxi. I would be worried that the Micro won't have enough room for you and everything else. Just saying Mark W

    Season report

20 ducks, maybe. That's about it. Horrible season this year, worse I can recall. Opener was great and a couple of hunts after that and then no ducks. I haven't shot a duck since early October I am guessing. Sat in a couple places and had ducks swim into the decoys but I have a thing about...

    12' Poke Boat

That boat is the kevlar version and weighs in a 22lbs. I have one and love it. Been hunting out of this boat than any of my other duckboats. Mark

Hope that squirrel was dispatched with a shotgun and no other potentially illegal arms in the boat with you. Mark

    Bummer of a morning

Check is in the mail Dave and Steve. Didn't get the motor back today. It is getting spark and gas. . Does not want to turn over at all which suggests timing is off or spark is insufficient. Pin on the flywheel is good. Carb is spotless and reeds are good. He ordered a new powerpack as this...

    Bummer of a morning

Got up early and headed out to do some huting. Got to the rampo, boat in the water and everything loaded. I was the only one there and it was going to be a great morning. Until I tried to start the motor. Would not turn over at all. Gas line is brand new, gas is fresh, new plugs. Ran a few...

Tod O. Solved you trout fishing problem

Perfect idea for running shallow water fishing areas. Never mind the peace and tranquility of fishing some remote stream somewhere. Glad I could help. https://www.facebook.com/reel/285978121048541?fs=e&s=TIeQ9V&mibextid=0NULKw

    needs camo

I" always thought the bestr way to hiunt geese was to go play a round of golf. Put the shotgun in one of the club holder slots and youll have your limit in no time. I was out on Wednesday. More toscout than anything else. Didn't bother setting out decoys, hiding my boat or myself or...
