    33° in Tampa!

Thinking of ya Carl. Lizards dropping like flys. Our cat used to love watching them drop to the concrete. Then as the sun warmed them they'd slowly get to going again. Funny how hunting here in that temp is nothing but hunting the bay down there was brutally cold!

    Winter is here. Who’s hunting?

How I would love to hunt in water that had a hard bottom. Where I hunt there would be ankle deep water but you'd be up to your crotch in mud!

It's cold outside but nothing better than a hot pot full of goose stew!

Lol. It's normally Canadian Mist but I'm out of Seven up.

Arkansas Opener Video from Public Land

In our area there are a few ramps managed by the Corp of Engineers. I don't use them often as they are less than ideal. No docks and they line the shore with large rocks so they are very difficult to use if you're a solo hunter/fisherman. They charge $5 a day or you can buy a season pass I...

It's going to get colder I hear. I remember that damp cold goes to the bone!

    Winter is here. Who’s hunting?

Wasn't meant to be this morning. Three nights in the teens and the ramps in my area are locked up with ice. The Mississippi River is basically a lake right now with very little flow so no thoughts of ice moving out. Time to clean things up and put them away for the season. I hope everyone that...

Arkansas Opener Video from Public Land

It reminds me of a place here in Iowa called Lake Odessa. In the late 60s I had the chance to hunt this lake and it was just like that. 20' boats with hard blinds and 115hp outboards. The birds came into the timber just like that. A lot of racing and swearing. The lake had staked areas allowing...

Tried to go hunting today,,,,,,,,, denied

Sounds like a good season. Congrats. I saw a Woodie on the river yesterday. To far for a shot as I sat there thinking that bird didn't get the memo. No venison so far this year. The summer flood drove the deer off the islands for the most part. So far I've seen a doe with a fawn and a yearling...

Finally, a couple of ducks in the snow.

I thought I was going home too Dave. I backed the boat out onto the ice and broke through. Picked a close island. Had several good groups flying the snow and lucked out with these and headed back to the ramp before it froze back up. Hoping it gets a bit warmer by the end of the week to finish...

Finally, a couple of ducks in the snow.

It's been a long hard season here. But finally the ponds are frozen and the ducks come back to the river!

10' max oal sneakboat design suggestions

I picked this up yesterday for a song for a shuttle boat. 12' Grumman Fisherman. I'm not a waterman by trade but been on the water for 60+ years. I've had a 10' and that 2' makes a difference for me. I understand you desire to maintain the 10' oal. Would building a rack above your handrail be...
