Two Deaths In One Week...and something to learn about getting ready!

Nice writing Larry. Congrats on the deer. My wife and I are at that stage with my father-in-law. At 87 he is lingering as The sands run out of his hour glass and it does make you wonder about many things. Like you, at 69, I feel I'm in great shape for my age(although a bit over weight I'll...

How do I get the bow down?

That boat is rated for a 2hp outboard. I might try a tiller extension and get your weight forward. That's a pretty small boat for a 6hp. A 6hp long tail by design will have you farther forward and may be the reason the owner uses a long tail.

Guenther Garvey or Whistler or what is this?

The second one was something I found in a very old post from another duck hunting site I believe is now defunct. It was a site I never was given access to so I can't even find a person's name. I may have to try some guesses as to dimensions with some scrap wood and see if it bends. I'm sure I...

Guenther Garvey or Whistler or what is this?

I've been looking over the plans Eric put up of the Guenther Garvey when I came across a boat for sale on Market Place. Unfortunately it was sold before I could get to talk to the seller. While searching to see if I could identify the boat I realized it was a Whistler which is also one of the...

    New Decorations

Nice decorations! I'm allowed one deer mount and one guitar in the living room. Not complaining though as she allows all the wildlife pictures and memorabilia I want in the living room (within reason). The rest of the house is hers...lol

    On this day in 1940...

It was a good blow today. The ramp at Loud Thunder was full with hunters hoping the wind blew in some new birds. Unfortunately it did not. Very few shots were taken today. I thought today of my Great Uncles recollection of that day as well as members stories that have been posted here in the...

    Let's Hear Your Worst Job

Most high school jobs suck but my worst job was when I moved back to Illinois after 13 years in Arkansas. 1996 I was working a contingent job for a Green farm implement company. As all contingent jobs they are time limited, so I started looking for a full-time position. I was offered a position...

Good to be back - The Broadbill's 22nd season

Good to see your still around Brian. Cool that the boat is still going. I like the net/plastic fencing. Where did you find it in tan?

    Aluminum Sneakbox

Chris Finch is the guy I remember that had an aluminum sneak box built. I haven't seen him post in a long time.
