Yeah I’m fortunate to have a very flexible work schedule and half the time I work midnights so I can hunt during the day lol

I would take the brewers over the mallard band. But in the northeast I only know of one pintail/mallard my buddy Timmy shot. Every other hybrid I’ve shot or is shot is a mallard/black duck. If it’s a band or a mallard/black, I’m taking the band every time!

I’ve had 2 birds banded north of where they were banded. A drake mallard and a Brant, both from Jersey not far from you Craig

Couldn’t upload the picture of the end result… ended up with a 3/3 man limit of geese (24 birds) consisting of 4 leg bands and our 1 Brant a piece. All triple banded, mine which is in the picture was from Iceland the other 2 from New Jersey, one of which had a gps transmitter on its back.

Yes although the salt marsh ducks of Long Island are not quite the most delicious table fare, I hate seeing them go to waste. The seagulls benefit I guess lol

We get a ton of birds here with rice breast. I’ve already had to toss several black ducks, a pintail and a gadwall.
