    What's on your WORK BENCH ? - MARCH 2001

Steve, nice to see the finished product of the tool box. I remember seeing it when we visited this summer. As always, nicely done. Eric, Like Brad, I am afraid to get into your posts too much for fear of a new hobby that I do not have time for. Very cool stuff. My father has a lot of old...

    Goose decoys

Nick, not sure if they have changed in all the years, but I have my fathers G&H goose floaters which are 30+ years old. They look great to my eye, and are smaller than my Bigfoot brand by a considerable amount. I have been slowly rebuilding my old LLBean geese. Heavy but I like the size and...

What is in your bag? January 2021

Overall a lackluster season for me, but the last week of the season wasn't too bad...last day I hunted I snuck in a good one! The next morning I added a beaver I'd been trying to trap for long while and popped a squirrel on the walk in to boot! I don't often shoot these but I told myself If...

    Dog appreciation pictures.

Here is my first dog, Sally, she was taken from us far too young by cancer just before the 2018 season: It took a couple of years, but we finally jumped in again just 3 weeks ago, meet Trudy!

    LL Bean tailboard replacment ?

Bill, its difficult to remove that tail without breaking the cork. I always cut the cork in line with the front of the tailboard and replace both the cork and the tail. Even if you salvage the cork that exists its rarely if ever in good shape. Bill

    Getting their feet wet

Good morning Nick, as others have mentioned, keep them warm, comfortable, and having fun. For my Audrey snacks are important. Thermoses of soup and of course hot coco are staples. Personally NO electronics except she has a camera she is allowed to take pics. Let them put out decoys, blow duck...

FS: LLB Mallards and Black Ducks

I've been slowly..very slowly...putting together a personal rig of LLB decoys for my personal hunting rig. They've all been "fixer uppers" I've gotten for cheap that needed attention. I've recently found some that are of desirable vintage (60s/70s) and just a little "too nice" that I'm not...

DUCKBOAT SEATS - How low can we go?

Similar to Eds design the best I've used was a fishing boat style padded seat mounted on a milk crate. The heavy padded version of the seat was important!

Here is a Red-breasted Merganser Mount/Decoy combo I finished this week. Mergansers don't get much respect but I find them great subjects for my artwork.

    Old timey looking Harli decoy.

Mike, So glad to see you posting again, your decoys have always been some of my favorites. I think very many of us started with that pattern book, my first dozen or so attempts at decoys came from it! Bill
