    Hand built wooden boat

Howard! I could not remember his name Bob. Someone posted years ago he had pasted on if I remember right. I thought that was an interesting boat design. I remember him posting how he brought the sides together with ratch straps to build that bow. It looked to be a difficult process to keep the...

    Sometimes it's the simple things...

I decided to smoke a couple of goose breasts today. A simple brine of water celery salt and onion. Then 6 hours in the smoker. Finished frying in a pan with barbecue sauce. Delicious on a bun with tater tots!

    Wader update

Frogg Toggs have a less that stellar review around here from fellow hunters. I tried the Frogg Togg hip water last year and sent them back. Total crap! I'll be interested in your review of the TideWe.

    Hand built wooden boat

That's a good looking boat. We had a member here that was building them in the early 2000's. You can find the plans here. Scroll to the bottom of the page. It's called "Sneak Boat" https://www.svensons.com/boat/

    Waders - The usual question

If they hold up like the Cabela's of old, that would be great but even if they don't and if the price stays at a decent price point I'll buy them again. These are what I bought. They sold out fast in my size last year...

    Waders - The usual question

I bought the 5mm 1600 from Kobuk last winter after the season. They remind me of the old Cabela's Supermag. Even came with a Cabela's shell holder. I liked them so well I ordered the breathable too.

Question for the brain trust, about cordless lawnmowers

Dave, my son has that ego model you're looking at as well as the lawn tractor style. I have ego 42" zero clearance version. Blade speed has speed control for battery life. I typically run mine at 75% blade speed and my blade is set at 2.5" blade height. Yes I can stall the blade but I'll never...

    Sub $1K kit trailers...

I went aluminum when I moved down there. You just can't spray the salt off enough.

    Sub $1K kit trailers...

I've been down the kit trailer road. Harbor freight and Northern Tool. I don't recommend them. I made a boat trailer from the Harbor Freight offering they called the red trailer for my first Momarsh Fatboy. The trailer twisting and vibration caused a rub through on the hull. I bought the one...

    Scary...

I wrote an in-depth letter to Senators Duckworth and Durbin here in Illinois about the benefits I had in school in the 60s because it was offered along with my family training I received. I won't bore with the contents but I never received a response from Senator Durbin and the response I...

    My new outboard came in.

I was able to get the boat into the water today. I'm very happy with the Suzuki. Very quiet and with fuel injection it's quite responsive. I was surprised being it's a 4 stroke. It's lighter than my old 40hp Mercury and planes much quicker. Breaking it in so not staying constant on throttle as...

    My new outboard came in.

I took the plunge and went with the Suzuki outboard. Have yet to get it on the water though. The flood here in Illinois is finally going down so hopefully this week it'll get its maiden voyage. September 1st isn't far off.
