Tried to edit and now there's 2. Can't figure out how to delete.

I went deer hunting this morning and decided to take a walk around and check out a couple of duck blinds. The water is so low many of the interior island blinds aren't accessible. This is why we don't use wooden boats on the Mississippi River in my area. Prior to the DNR putting a stop to using...

    Dry bag question

The reason I'm leaning towards a large capacity is I'd like to loose some layers and put them and my hunting coat in the bag rather than having stuff sitting open in the canoe while I'm paddling getting wet. Maybe I'm over thinking this though. Even in the winter I'll paddle in a sweat shirt to...

    Dry bag question

That Sea to Summit has been on my list but I do like extra pouch and straps on the Piscifun. So many options.

    Dry bag question

The sea to summit have good reviews. I was thinking one bag in the 30L to 35L but maybe a couple smaller are a better thought and split things up.

    Dry bag question

I like the nylon type that I've looked at but just Dicks Sporting. The only thing we have local now. I need to make a trip to Scheels so I'll look there too.

    Dry bag question

The Watershed bags, although look nice, have always been over my budget. I'm thinking a rolltop that can just be thrown in the canoe. It'll be a learning experience using the canoe this year. Trying to find shoreline I can stay close to that's not someone's front yard is going to be tough. I few...

    1st blood

Nice! Thanksgiving dinner right there! The public places in my area where you might find a turkey have deer hunters every 50 yards...lol. In 25 years I've only seen one turkey on the islands I hunt.

    Dry bag question

With the Mississippi River so low this year I'm going to be spending a lot of time in a canoe. Not knowing anything about dry bags and capacity does anyone have any suggestions. I'm thinking coat, thermos, lunch, binoculars, shells, flash light, extra gloves, head coverings, dry clothes, fire...

    Vintage duck boat

Welcome! That's a pretty cool looking boat. I'd never thought of that camo pattern before! The Land Of The Setting Sun... We're they from Norway? Just kidding. By the way we use our real names here. Of course if your name is Buddy or Duck it's all good. Not trying to be a jerk. Can't wait to...

    Hurricane Milton

Glad all is well. We were there for Tropical Storm Bonnie. That was enough! We were inches from having our apartment flooded. I had to drive the Sunshine bridge to and from work. They shut the bridge down and I crawled I75 home that night. Almost 5 hours to get home! The people I still have...

    Hurricane Milton

I heard from friends they're cutting out this time. All that waste, debris and and appliances sitting in people's driveways and roadways will become projectiles and now they are predicting 20' surge. Y'all are in my thoughts down there. I hope Dani is right!

    Hurricane Milton

I know several in the area as well. A couple lost everything and have no real shelter. One is an old school friend and work mate. She didn't have damage but isn't taking any chances with this one. She packing the car with her daughter and grandkids and headed out. I know if it tracks like it...

    Hurricane Milton

Thinking about all you guys down there. I was talking to a friend that is headed down to Florida soon. His place didn't sustain any damage from Helena. He's about 1 hour north of Tampa but he's getting nervous about this one. What I read about Pinellas County and troubles with waste removal...

    Life is fickle

Sorry to read this Dave and the loss of your friend. I've had a few go the same way this year and it's a hard awakening. It's been on my mind as I'll turn 69 on the 21st. I'll then be one year and a couple of days older than when my dad died.

    She's a Beaut Clark

That's a sweet looking boat. From the looks of it there were two plank seats in her at one time.
