    Herters head salvage?

    Soak the bolt ends with oil for 30 minutes or so. With hack saw blade, ring the plastic screw shaft, one third inch, from end. Only ring the plastic, don't saw the screw. Use pliers on end of screw shaft, twist out . Good luck. Bob.

    Pair of antique,1930 - 1940, bluebilll paper machi decoys .

    Both decoys have octagon shaped bottom boards inserted when decoys were formed. Both decoys have old repaint. Hen has repair to bill. Maker unknown to me. Glass Eyes, not rigged on bottom, holes on bottom had screw eyes for line attaching. Very nice early pair of low cost collector decoys, $48...

    Decoy eyes

    I use 9mm glass eyes on wire on all my decoys except swans, they get larger eyes. I poke a pilot hole in the eye socket for the wire, add glue to wire and eye base and install. By the way, I have plenty of surplus eyes , should you be wanting some.

    OkIn the late 1990,s I wintered in Kitty Hawk. I applied for a swan permit but did not get one. I still have some swan decoys I made for the hunt. They make a pretty good confidence decoy. Here's a picture of one.
