    Hard Dodger for Sneakbox

Maybe a scooter-style sprayshield is the way to go. Plenty of guidance in Steve Sanford's posts about them

Yet Another Look at Cooking Buffies

bufflehead numbers here in the Rhode Island saltwater spots I frequent have been quite low. Too bad, because I have no qualms about eating them. Avoiding overcooking them has been a challenge, so perhaps this thread will be inspiration to improving my culinary skills. Thanks.

    TUTORIAL - Re-painting Bean's Coastal Blacks & Mallards

Steve, I know you get lots of questions on this forum, so I apologize for adding one more, and did make a good faith search before posting this question, but, despite that, it seemed wise to ask is the list below still the recommended paint schedule for black duck decoys? If so, is one of...

    The quest continues

Jeff, your following point rings quite true based on my Rhode Island experiences: Also, other than the dawn flurry, by far our most effective technique is to note where ducks get up when disturbed, and quickly set up on EXACTLY that spot. I don't know if it's the same ducks coming back, or...

    scoter /eider shooters...

I've never hunted or shot an eider, but from what I experienced this past weekend, I'd say the clorox bottle approach should work. This past weekend, while scouting one of my hunting spots, from about 200 yards away I noticed an eider. I figured it would flush at any moment. Instead, it let...

    Chesapeake's and Cans

Phil, Wouldn't be surprised if that Golden Eye flew away. The one time I've shot a Golden Eye thus far it fell onto the water and was floating as if dead. By the time I could get the kayak and start paddling toward that duck it got up and flew off.

Great show today in Tuckerton. I had a quick question for the NJ guys

Along these lines, another thing I recently noticed (among folks who use thatch rails) is that some seem to prefer securing the grass with the tips pointing toward the center of the boat, while others appear to like just the opposite. I couldn't decide which approach to use this year, and so...

    sneakboat lap/cockpit cover

Thanks, Dave. Heck, with my gun I may not even have to cover it since it is already camo.

    sneakboat lap/cockpit cover

I'm going through this very helpful thread, and hoping to redesign the lap cover for my boat. One way I assume one deploys this setup is with the cover pulled up to the armpits and the arms above the cover. Do any of you folks, however, hunt with arms underneath the lap cover? If so, is there...

    maiden voyage on my Estuary...finally

I don't remotely resemble an outboard motor expert, but with both my motors I've noticed that the longer they go without running, the worse they are to start. Not sure why, but it happens enough to convince me it's not good for motors to do nothing.

    I'm ready

Hoping to get into the garage today to get started on making ready for the upcoming season. Go a whole lot to do. September around here is great saltwater fishing so I've only gotten out once in the past for resident/September geese.

    MLB chuck huff bbsb refresh

Thanks, Steve. That's about what I expected (actually a little less) given how robust those motor mounts look. Yesterday I tried a different, heavier, more-powerful outboard on my boat, and am wondering whether the motor mount should be beefed up.

Steve, Do you happen to know how much one of your motor boards weighs?

Ok will this get on plane ?

Wonder if that's a version of a Zack Box (one of the boats in Zack Taylor's book Successful Waterfowling)
