Towing cross country on small trailer tires...

Yup. I get mine from the local auto parts that can put in an order for the USA ones. The manager told me certain size bearings/races/seals are only made overseas. That could have been the case with your snowsleds. It seems like, at least for now, the ones for my hubs are made here in the USA or...

Ahh going to replace the tire. That works. I was never good at matching wheels to tire section widths but I'm assuming that will fit a 4" wheel? Curious because I probably need to replace my tires soon.

Yeah that's the way to go then. 145/80-12. That's a long drive on gravel. Right with you on replacing them. Most of the 145/80-12's I'm seeing online are D rated. The E's come with fancy-shmancy wheels. Something like you'd see on a trailer with a Donzi on it lol.

Towing cross country on small trailer tires...

I think you may have 12's on there based on the pic. They look like load range C as well. Those are decent tires. You can go up to 5.30 in terms of width (not necessary) and an E rating which is way, way overkill. If you do opt for new wheels/tires, I'd just go with another 4.80x12 in load range...

Towing cross country on small trailer tires...

I end up rebuilding all my hubs with Timkens. As mentioned, I got a brand new trailer with a bad hub. Personally, I think it was bad assembly, and the person putting the hubs on did not know how to set/adjust them. Talking with the company, they ONLY sell pre-assembled hubs with minimal grease...

Towing cross country on small trailer tires...

Oh I had no idea this was YOUR trailer. I thought you had bought this from someone sight unseen. I misunderstood. In that case, I agree. I wouldn't even sweat it then. Give them a repack, set them on, and call it a day. Those tires don't look bad. I've seen way worse. 12" wheels aren't bad...

Towing cross country on small trailer tires...

I'm with @MIKE-SID By rebuilding I mean popping out the grease seal, pulling the bearings, and hammering out the races. Then replacing everything with new. Or you can just buy two new prebuilt hubs and keep the others as spares. I just sleep better at night with fresh bearings and races. The...

Towing cross country on small trailer tires...

Just figured I'd throw my $0.02 on this after having just rebuilt a set of hubs. Definitely see if you can get the spindle size from the manufacturer and consider buying two new hubs you can just swap on. 5 lug, that size, I would maybe say it's a 1-1/16" straight spindle. Something like this...

    Stupid is as stupid does

I agree with you. It happens everywhere. Not necessarily coming to blows but "heated interactions" happen all over. I've been on the receiving end of some antagonizing behavior here in NJ. Its a problematic example for the community and sport. I've seen far too many videos of this and...

    Fuel line bulb

I always end up coming back to OEM as well. When I had my Johnson, same thing. It hurts spending like $70+ on a whole new fuel line but I find the OEM ones usually last a couple years.

Morning Aboard The Commanding Mistress.. Long Island, NY

That pic right there might be the coolest thing I've seen in a while. The whole concept of that boat and how they hunted is very unique.

55 year old ski boat is a reborn killer.

Very cool. It almost looks like a GW Invader variant.

    Safety on the water.

With that Craig F said, I used to be a real idiot. We didn't have the PFD law at the time but I would typically run no kill switch (just dangling from the motor), no PFD, and no safety rope. I actually think back to these times and it sends chills up my spine about what could have happened...

    Safety on the water.

Stay safe guys. This one isn't good: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14222477/Andruw-Wesley-Cornett-missing-California-brothers-duck-hunting.html I ran into some ugly water this last Saturday. Luckily I was in a 13' boat with a 25hp motor. These poor kids were in a kayak.

NEW Flapper Boards for Duck Boss 13

Broc, Assuming the molds are the same, these are compatible with the Duck Invader 13 as well, correct? I'd be interested in learning more about them. This solves a problem with these boats.

    Small spread make up.

Depends where you are. I rarely ever hunt more than 14-15 decoys here in NJ for ducks. My spread is usually: 6 black ducks - Almost always. 6 of a staple species that's around - It might be gadwall, or pintail, or sometimes even mallards if I'm in an area with a good amount. Teal in the early...

US Drought Monitor: Not Looking Good for Anyone

I live not far from both those fires. The Pompton one was about 5 min away and W Milford one is about 15-20 min. I'm not worried because they would need to jump major highways, go downhill, and more to get to me...but its still really bad. I've never seen it this dry with this many fire issues...

US Drought Monitor: Not Looking Good for Anyone

We're in trouble here in NJ. Hearing from buddies: No birds, for the most part. Early season teal either skipped right over or are north still. No fresh water to be found. As for the wildfires, we have them now up here in Passaic and Morris which is not good. The fire departments cant get water...
