Input on two possible boat blind ideas

Thanks for the note. I have a Lund Ducker which is a different boat than the Almnacraft Ducker. I too can't lay down anymore and need to sit up. I have seen may layout blinds on the sit on top Kayaks that look prety cool. Ascend H12 type of boats.

    TideWe Wader update

/In case anyone has an interest. My waders arrived the other day and had to try them on. Out of the box I can tell these are quality waders. They feel much more rugged than my last pair of Cabelas. 4 layers of waterproofing, lots of pockets and a front zipper. Fit is close to shoe size (I...

    Wader update

Seems all waders are hit and miss. Even seen some poor reviews of Simms (although quite a bit less but maybe that is because there are less people who own them). I like the ones recommended on here that were designed and built by oystermen. Twice the bucks of the tidewe and they are not near...

    Wader update

I went and tried on the Frogg Toggs at my local Fleet Farm. They had the version 2.0, not the current 3.0. I am a size 9 and my current waders are a size 9. Tried them on, and they were tight in the foot and ankle. Thought 10 would work though and ordered from Amazon as on the Frogg Togg...

Input on two possible boat blind ideas

How high does it go? I need to sit on a seat as hunting in the floor is just too hard these days.

Input on two possible boat blind ideas

About to start the blind build onto the ducker. While I really like the pop up blind I built for the 14" boat a few years back, it was pretty complicated and I don't need this in my life anymore. I am considering two different methods. The two hoop method or a scissors type of blind. I've...

    Waders - The usual question

Have been reading about the High N Dry waders. Like the kevlar in the knee area. Wish the butt had some reinforcement. $350 for unlined version is a bit pricey

    Waders - The usual question

I have owned various brathable waders over the years. Used to always buy the Cableas brand was they came with a lifetime warranty. If they leaked, I would replace them under warranty. If the next pair leaked, I just bought new. Got about 2-3 years out of a pair. My current waders leak...

    How to bend aluminum tubing

I'll look for it. Thanks. Think if I had a person hold the 1/2" aluminum against the boat that I could stand at the other end I bend it by hand? I have heard of filling the tube with sand and doing so. I like Dave's idea and it is the best way. $150 to make one hoop isn't economical for us...

    Two ducker catamaran

I have a double ended marsh boat that hat I put a homemade mud motor on. It is similar to a ducker. I have pictures of a few different ideas if you are interested. One way would work. Ice if you venture out in a single ducker and can then be transferred to a double ducker.

    How to bend aluminum tubing

I am going to build a blind on the Lind Ducker. Last blind I built worked well but was a lot of work with a lot of moving parts. I want this one to be simple. I have a tubing bender for the back part of the blind but the front part I want to follow the contour of the boat. How do I bend the...

    My new boat blind

I've used raffia and it works. Also takes to spray paint real well if you want to add highlights or whatever. What I don't like about raffia. Constantly getting tangled in everything Absorbed water - a lot of water Would freeze in the colder weather Would stay wet for a very long time...

    Yet another wader question

Thanks. From how wet I got for how short of a time I was in the water I'm thinking more than pinholes. Nothing visible. Former 3M'er and actually worked in the Marine Trades group. 5200 and its variants are pretty impressive products. I think I even have a tube or two at home.
