    Dogs.

Sorry to see this Jode. I lost my first water dog back in 2018. Jake was a far better retriever than I was a trainer and absolutely loved pointing woodcock. Some of Jake's last few retrieves were Bull Cans and Wigeon. I just finished duck season with this youngster who will be 4 this...

    Life vest recommendations

Inflatables are comfortable but is your life worth the possibility of the auto inflate feature failing? We just had a fella here in SC say his dad fell out of the boat this past weekend and his lifejacket failed to auto inflate. From what I gather, some won't auto inflate until you sink...

    The Long hunt (stranded overnight)

Awesome adventure!!! Great reminder to plan for the worst and hope for the best! The more time we spend in the woods and on the water the odds increase that we'll be stranded at some point. Glad you're safe and we're all able to read about a happy outcome!

    When one is enough....

Our Pintails at the end of the Mississippi river are rust stained from rooting in the mud for duck potato. Taxidermists use rust stain remover to whiten it back up but many folks elect to leave it as a trait given the location of harvest. Congrats on harvesting some beautiful bulls!

    Season Dates stink

I was in S. Louisiana last week. The lack of ducks was abysmal. I'm used to shooting ducks in warmer weather but they're not coming South like they used to. No need with warm weather, plenty of food and open water up North. Our season is open until Jan 30th which is a week or more later...

Glad I didn't go out Wednesday

Sad but what an incredible job! The rescue videos I've seen after hurricanes and during Gulf storms are remarkable. How did he get the car door open and to stay open? Looked like the current was ripping.

Sometimes you just have to shake your head in disgust...

I could see anti hunters blocking a ramp. I keep a 4 way lug wrench in my truck....it'd come in handy for your situation. ;)

    Question

I do most all of my hunting at the end of the Miss. flyway. Photoperiod ducks are the norm during early season. Short sleeves, sun screen and bug spray are the norm many days with frequent limits of Greys, Pintail, Teal and Wigeon. As season progresses I love to hunt the backside of big...

    Mud motor

Man I hate to hear that. Betsy seems like a real sweet lady. They build one heck of a motor too. I have buddies in S. Louisiana that have new boats built since last April still waiting on outboards to power them. I don't know how a boat builder can stomach the carrying cost for materials...

Modern Day Bernegat Layout! Four Rivers

My buddy just got his migrator a couple weeks ago. I have a refuge runner and last year was my first time hunting from it. Incredible marsh boats! I've never seen one with the spray shield but that looks like the ticket for the salt marsh!

    Maine 2021

Looks like an incredible time! I was checking out your tent setup online. Very cool! I wonder if the marketing department knows that they have Michael Meyers from "Halloween" pictured on their website too. Nothing says relaxation like a serial killer chillin' by a campfire with his Tuff...

Fight It, Or Not? (Any Cops Here Feel Free To Weigh In. My feelings Won't Be Hurt If You Say I Deserve It)

I'd pay it and let it go. The juice isn't worth the squeeze. Law enforcement is out to serve and protect, unfortunately, the LEO you encountered took things personally. No telling why some officers take things to that level because it doesn't bode well as a public servant to approach folks...

    Kalash layout boat rebuild

Beautiful looking work! I grew up in the downriver area of Detroit and have a lot of family in Gibraltar, MI. Many still layout shoot. John Kalash built an incredible boat!

    Gifting game

Tagging is usually where folks seem to get in trouble with the lawman. Here is the law regarding termination of possession and gifting. If a game warden or federal agent is wanting to get a warrant to go through a person's personal freezer at home, they would have had to do something seriously...

Meet Coal and this former Jersey guy---

I've hunted around Malta and Lake Bowdoin back in the late 90's. I'd love to get back up there! I heard the drought hit them hard this year. That'll be tough on all wildlife for sure.

Meet Coal and this former Jersey guy---

Beautiful pup Al! I bet that was a beautiful drive too! I would have had to stay in MT and chase ducks and upland birds for a day or two!
