Ive enjoyed your progress and had some ideas on the feather edge. Since the boat will be glassed why not add a heavy filet on the inside, covered in glass tape, and then on the outside. This would keep that feather edge . You would have to lay the filet in before you get to far up the deck to...

I will second Matt's suggestions. A number of years ago I documented a skiff rebuild on this site for a similar boat. It was a shell lake mallard queen. Check that out it should give you a big picture scope of the project

The boat was built on a hard canoe form. With the elaborate time a canoe form takes to build i suspect this was not a one off boat and there were many made . The cockpit being squared off is puzzling because after building the form for the hull a bending jig for the deck combing would be simple...

Your design Steve using the conduit is proven and I built two exactly from the plans you drew up . I still have one that gets regular use. I thought maybe Dave Clark used a cable similar to to what was used on the South Bay boats.

The bluewing was made from cypress root that a collector gave me at the Chicago decoy show. It is so light and easy to carve. The style is a blend of decoys by La France and Campo. the decoys from that state are wonderful and folky. Thanks for the comments.

Anthony, On the first pic what type of support holds that oval shape? Is it heavy wire or bent conduit or pex ? I like the way it holds its shape.
