    Some good-looking knives in those pictures. I have never made my own micarta, but I was aware that others do. As you said looks messy to me also.     A Pilgrimage to Robert Ruark's Hometown: Southport, NC

    Ruark wrote a monthly column in Field and Stream for years. Before I could read my father used to read the column to me each month. I have all of Ruark's books in my library now, Havilah Babcock's books, Jack O'Conner and even the Lower Forty.

    Yes, I make a few Reelfoot style metal reed calls every year. Used to moderate a Reelfoot forum on another internet site until it went over to Facebook. Loved teaching others to make the Reelfoot style calls! Our Tutorial section has one of my call making tutorials you can read. Fred
