I'm assuming the large pipe coming out of the motor cover is for the drive? Is it a transmission with forward and reverse? Or engage/disengage? I would love to see more pictures when the motor cover is off.

Bob, on that lick sleeve that's great you found another. One of the problems I had was mine's a male with bad aim! Hopefully your female doesn't have that issue. As an FYI mine has recovered fully, and if you stick with the plan I'm sure your girl will as well.

The TPLO process is the way to go, my 4 year old shorthair had it a year ago. You're 100% correct on the rehab, it's a painful process for both of you and patience is needed. For me the worst was keeping them down after the first 4 weeks when he felt ready to go. Just a hint, the Lick Sleeves...

Mark, the best thing I have found for cold feet is wool insoles. Made a huge difference in my waders. i haven't tried the heated socks.

If it's going to be there for the season (once in, once out) why not do it like a float instead of pontoons? Maybe 8x10 to give yourself a little wiggle room with the blind mounted on it? Just guessing from your pictures, but you could probably tie/anchor right to the trees and not bother with...

I think that is more ducks in one morning than I see in a season. The mass start from camp to hunting area was interesting, although nothing I want to be part of. Maybe in my younger years, I did a lot of foolish stuff then. I also consider shooting them once they have landed in the decoys...

And to think I passed up a copy years ago at $250. Out of curiosity I just checked The Art of Making Decoys Book 1 and found it on Knotts Knives website for $65! I can tell you for certain that book is a must have as well. Tons of information.
