Whats on the workbench in August?

Received a beautiful set of wooden spoons and a great sounding Turkey box call from Rutgers today. Are going to make nice additions to our banquet items as well. Paul...thanks for the extra effort needed to get these items finished on time for the event. Tim

Whats on the workbench in August?

I am so looking forward to getting my hands on this bird : ) Its unfortunate that most of you guys won't be able to ogle, in person, the line up of birds we're going to have at the banquet. I've seen photos of the bird Willy is sending and it's awesome, the feather detail on the Ben...

    Core Sound Waterfowl Museum

Actually the museum was quite a bit more than I expected, so I didn't take a camera. I did get my daughter to take a few images with her phone, I'll see if I can get them posted up. The website has some nice images.

Whats on the workbench in May?

We use a landing net to pick up ducks from the tender boat when we layout hunt, but I wasn't happy with the one we were using, so I decided to make my own. Picked up a piece of straight grained White Ash, cut out a handle and built a form to shape the net hoop. Need to use many clamps to...

    D1685

No I haven't had it in the water yet. It has a 42" beam so I'm curious how it will behave under paddle power. I want to play around with a couple of different approaches to determine the best position to paddle or pole from.

I've had her retreiving out of it in the back yard already. We'll move to a shallow water area the first chance I get.

    D1685

Became the proud owner of Alumacraft Ducker hull number D1685 over the weekend. Thanks to Pat Gregory and Bob Welsh for putting me in contact with the previous owner. This boat has probably had more ducks killed out of it than I can imagine. Looking forward to adding to the tally. She's got her...
