    H anchor casting

Ok, I see. There is no draft. It is cut 90 degrees, he did it on the sly at work so I don't think I can have him re-do it for me. I will try other methods of heating the mold and the candle carbon trick. Thanks all for your help.

    H anchor casting

A friend milled me a mold for H style decoy anchors out of billet aluminum. I tried casting a few yesterday but it was a pain in the a$$ to get the anchors out of the mold. I tried re-heating the mold, putting wax in the mold and it didn't help much. Any suggestions?

    Carving Vise

3" x 3/4" black pipe nipple and 2 floor flanges. Screw one into a small section on 2x4 and clamp into bench vice. The other into the bird you are working on. Connect everything together with the nipple.

    Grass Rails

OK. I've got it now. How hard do you think it will be for me to find mahogany? Will a good lumber yard carry that kind of wood?

    Grass Rails

With the boiled linseed oil, do you apply it while it's boiling? Or let it cool first? I am not familiar with working with it. Thanks in advance-Scott

That's a great idea. Maybe I'll try that.

    Grass Rails

I have oak grass rails on my Chuck Huff BBSB. After only one year I can see they are beginning go deteriorate. Is it a bad idea to coat them in epoxy resin to try to protect them? My concern is that when I try to bend them while reinstalling the epoxy will crack.

    best blind bag

I have one from Cabelas and another from Drake. I like the hard plastic bottom of the Cabelas but like the design and features of the Drake better. The only thing I don't care for on the Drake bag is that there is a clear plastic zippered pouch that you can put items such as maps that you need...

    Push pole question

I had the Avery pole. It gets gunked up and it can't be extended or collapsed any more. Then I ended up breaking it. This was all during the first season I used it. I got wooden closet rod from the lumber yard. I then sanded down the one end a little to accept the foot from my original...

    Duck taxidermy questions

I also use Wes Potter. Excellent work. Quick turn around. Per Wes, fold the head underneath and double wrap in bread or newspaper bags. He said they will keep in the freezer lime that for years.
