I too love the ward pintails...the cans and broadbills get all the love but this is probably my favorite pintail I always thought Greyson made a great pintail gunner too.. and Mueller always a favorite...

This is the decoy I posted in this months workbench thread. Since it wasn't carved as a commission it is available. Its carved from cork with a cedar head, and a pine keel with brass hardware, painted in traditions acrylics. The tail is my usual soda bottle with craft foam. I'd like $150 for it...

what a month...love those eiders! cool idea for a turkey too, break from the traditional "shorebird" style bird on a stick. This started life as a mallard, but the longer it sat on the painting table the more I saw this in it. Finally just sat down and painted it.

Nice work everyone, Jode thats a real beauty of a sprig! We lucked out here yesterday, I live just inland enough that we only got another 2" or so. Warmer weather on the horizon!

I changed up the side profile on my "standard" broadbill pattern. I like it for now, but I'm sure I'll change it up again before long. Here is a hen I put the finishing touches on this week.

Here's a couple of older lessers I carved, and a few limits from the season we were allowed 3 each.. A Mason from my collection Stamp on bottom of previous decoy, C. Bartlett of West Haven CT was among the first "guides" on Long Island Sound, taking sports from New York to hunt ducks...

This is an old bluebill from my collection, came from a box of old decoys in Guilford, CT. Have not been able to find anything on a possible maker.
