Nine feet is a lot of water for Cedar Key and surrounding area. When at UF I hunted the Cedar Key Scrub a number of times. We would also fish too. Most of my friends live inland, Archer/Gainesville. I wonder how many of those who tried to 'ride it out' would do it again?

Sudan grass is used primarily as forage, hay or cover crop. Since it has been mowed once already I doubt it would produce any type of seed. Most commercial varieties are a hybrid which doesn't produce seed. It will most likely be mowed/harvested at least once more. Geese may feed on it as it...

Tod is correct. Nest is from last year. You can tear it out if you want. Seal the hole. Be cautious about sealing up active nests you might find later in the year. They will look for a new exit or explore their surroundings and show up places you don't want. Tom
