That was a bummer for sure! Did you sand it off? Any differences you found between top coat and primer? Does it not dry on thw surface as quickly? What was your experience with pot life?

Wetlander primer on and dry. For those considering wetlander, I bought the 2-layer kit that includes 1/2 gallon of primer and 1/2 gallon of topcoat (and the hardener for each). Color is "Anchor", though I dont know if the topcoat will be the same as the primer. Will certainly post pictures...

    NBR. Free range bacon.

Good luck! Last one I shot was in lower Alabama. Deer hunting with a buddy and a big sow ran into the field with 5 piglets. Shot the sow, and the piglets just ran around her. Managed to get 3 of them before the last 2 wisened up. Those little ones are the best!

I recently bought a bag full of old tools (specifically for a plane and a drill to restore) that included a couple castration pliers, if you need a pair. Or want to get rid of a pair.

    Rail Skiff Build

Made me think of the guy my buddy told me about... always bought the most stripped down version of a truck when he needed a new one, and the first thing he did when he got home with it was hit the front right quarter panel with a tire iron. No angst after that! Really looks great!

Sides primed and with a base coat. Final aluminum prep then wetlander on the bottom and I'll finally be ready to flip it!

Keep us posted if you do. From our various locales, we can bring resupply provisions and do a ridealong in our duckboats as you pass by. I'll be glad to provide escort from the SC/NC line to Morehead.

Jump on in! There are advantages, but also disadvantages. If I was doing this in my garage at home I'd probably be further along!

Can't hurt to try, you might get lucky and avoid some digging. But to my mind if the male section is cracked there are low odds of getting enough of anything in the right place via a coating of the female threads to hold up to pressurized water for long (without putting enough in to clog the...

    Shooting School

You're not giving that impression. In my opinion, it's a bit of a chicken/egg situation. I do think most fitters want you to have a consistent mount before fitting... but a consistent mount with an ill-fitting gun will have to change with a well-fit gun. Despite my recommendations, I haven't...

That's among the top reason I put up my semi-auto and moved to doubles many years ago - I hate hunting for hulls!
