The reflections of that metal siding on the fill coat would tell any lies you had! Very pretty work!

I'm for minimalism as far as clutter and stuff to get tangled into. Decoys, anchors and gear gets bad enough. The only dog ladder I'd consider is someone had one that was attached to the bow that folded into the water and stowed/folded tight to the deck, but that would be in the way for fishing...

Those tabs you are going to use sure seem like they have potential as an attachment point as well. Does your pup not like to come in over the gunnel?

Lotta lakes and reservoirs, not sure how it will pan out. Lotta breeding ducks from goldeneye to puddlers, but not sure how the migration will pan out. We are in the pacific flyway, so the season will be plenty long. I'll know more after this fall, since I have the fall off from work. Snowgoose...

Good to hear, I'm always hesitant to adopt something untested without hearing that someone put the product through several years of use/abuse.

I was obviously joking about the pink, but there does seem to be a lot of talk about the wetlander. How did it hold up through last hunting season?

There hasn't been a reverse chine here. I think it would be a real vulnerable point on a wood hull, especially a duck boat, but the performance attributes are real, which is why they are so common otherwise. One of the other stitch and glue designers (Tolman) has at least one model of his skiff...

For the record, I was agnostic on the second layer after you taped and glassed. I like the idea of 2 layers and avoiding the taping to avoid fairing the taped area. Either way, you will be glad at some point that you added that, I'm sure - one is never sorry to over build a little bit.

If you are that easy, you should paint it with pink wetlander, since I know RJ will get on board with that.

Chines are really what take a beating, since the strakes do a pretty good job of protecting the hull. Your chines are doubled already.

I like a squeegee and brush. You are past this point, but the ideal way to do the fill coat is wet on wet, lay the second or third right on top when the first coat is just cured enough to hold the glass down tight to the wood. No sanding in between

All federal waterfowl and wetlands research proposed to be eliminated from USGS

My point was that it we are talking the USGS, not the USFWS that most are more familiar with.

All federal waterfowl and wetlands research proposed to be eliminated from USGS

Just so people are clear, this is the USGS BR division, not USFWS that people are more familiar with as far as migratory bird management.
