    Towable layout bottom

I'll have to crawl in there after the sling comes off. Not sure how far I can reach, it's been some time.

    Towable layout bottom

Steve, considering the bow portion of the well slopes towards the bow itself, like a ramp, should I be continuing the "bow" to about 2" from the edge of the where the front of the boat meets the water, or just adding a tow ring and a skeg to its current condition. The drawing you made shows both...

    Towable layout bottom

Agreed. Steve if I have any further questions I'll hunt you down at the show so we can discuss in person. I'll be fresh out of the sling after 3 weeks, which will be a welcome relief.

    Towable layout bottom

Steve, Realized I never answered your question. She does try to dive when we pull her. I've also not pulled her at any speed because of this. Even if the diving was corrected, I imagine a skeg would need to be added. The spot I want to go is 6 miles from the launch. 2 of that is slow on the...

    Towable layout bottom

I'd be curious how much buoyancy it would take to get tank to float. Though I guess a bunch of foam would probably be enough. Maybe a few milk crates of lead in there...

    Towable layout bottom

Steve, Mostly. Would the foam also go on the sides of the well? That is to say, would it look like this from below (photo below).

    Towable layout bottom

Steve/Dave. Apologies for the picture quality. The layout has got to be 400lbs and my right arm is in a sling after getting my bicep attached, so the tractor isn't working today. I wasn't sure how well the thing could be towed with the box that extends into the water, certainly doesn't have a...

    Towable layout bottom

Curious if anyone has a towable layout they'd be willing to send a photo of the bottom. Tried search and Tony H mentioned a photo but I can't find it. We have a big two man that we tow our but it's pretty slow. Was wondering if the bottom could be changed slightly to tow a little faster (not 30mph)

Wood Duck nesting box - material?

Larch would be a good one to use if you can find it. It's rot resistant and always pretty cheap if you have a mill nearby. We used it for our raised beds. The 2x10 stock I used may outlive my career.

    Decoy ID for the gurus

George, not possible. My brother-in-law is in his 40s and his father is in his 80s. That would put his grandfather in the 100-120 age group. No longer alive

Adjustable jack plate for my Duck Invader with a 20hp

How high can you set it? Is there a guide to reference?

Sucks getting old. Everything breaks. And. It just on the boat!

Adjustable jack plate for my Duck Invader with a 20hp

I'm just lazy mike. The thought of trying to manual crank up my DF40 (250ish lbs) sounds awful. I already tore my bicep moving logs, I'm trying to learn from my mistakes and work smarter not harder! Running 6" shallower doesn't sound bad. I already run pretty low if I trim the motor up. That...

    Frozen to the trailer!

Dave, Mike Asid (also a member) recently got some of these: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B077H4B4V1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_9J92S4A85WEY4FYDHF8G?psc=1 Maybe the poly won't stick as much?

    Starting outboard in extreme cold

Good to know. Fuel lines are new last year. We played games with the fishing boat for a while and I took some extra new line and made new ones for this. Today it was 22F and it started right up. I parked it in the lawn (not wife approved) instead of the usual spot which is surrounded by trees...

    Starting outboard in extreme cold

Do y'all have the fuel water separator in line or mounted somewhere? We have a racor on the 23 walk around but it's mounted in the motor well and out of the way. Not sure how that would look inside the duckwrangler 15

    Starting outboard in extreme cold

Sounds good, I'll try the separator. I actually run all season on ethanol free. Wife's family have cabins up in lake George, they sell ethanol free 93 at the pump at the Stewart's right in town. I bring every red can we have and fill up while we are there. I look like a maniac filling up 10 five...

    Starting outboard in extreme cold

We got 1. Didn't get out until late due to slow to start motor and couldn't get set up where we wanted to with the tide going out. Actually I didn't get anything, we drifted into some and andrea took the lead bird down like a pro and missed the other two shots. No water separator. I just have...

    Starting outboard in extreme cold

Went out for late goose yesterday, temp was 8F. My 04 Suzuki df40 doesn't like to start when it's that cold. Fuel lines were frozen, so I swapped them out, but man did it take a while to get the thing to turn over. After I heard one of the cylinder fire off, I knew i could get it started. Just...
