Goof Off will remove it without harming under finish. Not sure you want to go that route though with the size of your removal.

A simple hole drilled thru seat bracket just under combing lip with a bolt ran thru and nuts on back side One front & rear of bracket. That should keep bracket from lifting off lip when you rock back . You could get fancy and put a small roller on bolt and simply drop positioning correspondingly.
