    Pond Box/Coffin Blind

    Douglas, don't think the pond box is made to row or retreive birds. I have two, they are ment to tow or wade to a spot and set up on shore. Don't reaaly think they are that stable. Any one else use it to retrieve birds?

    Eric, Steve had some cool looking shoving oars at the duck boat show. I have a old Herters duckbill push pole with a brass hook for decoy lines. My crab pot hook is wood with aliminum hook, it floats [ lost a few, didn't float ].

    Careful with those carving knives

    Opening oysters and the knife slipped between my fingers about two inches deep. Worst part was putting q tips with peroxide in there to clean it out, hurt more than the slip. Don't know how many times it took to come out clean. Better than going to the hospital to get it done. I use a towel now...

    Feeling Human Again

    Eric, I'm out on Long Island, 30 miles from Montauk. Covid has started up here again and filling up the hospital again. Try to cool it a little, my buddy got it 3 times, really took a toll on his body. Stay healthy.

    Dave, agree about not cutting the oar. If you look at steves boat, I mounted my push pole under the flap board attached to the hinge block.

    Dave, how about a two piece shoving pole. Brass or bronze coupler? Like a big cleaning rod. lanyard attaching both sections to prevent loss.

    I hunt small marshes mostly, use 6 mallard / black decoys with two field mallards on the marsh. If I hunt up near John L, I bring a dozen brant [ very few brant out my way ].
