South Bay Duck Boat -Blind ground rule #1 recovered.

Dave, takes guts to paint a new engine. Looks great, great stencil job. My nephew stenciled my SBay entirely, bow to stern, could have hunted it with out grass. I still use burlap potato bag over the motor to break up the outline. I dip it in the water so it doesn't blow in the wind. Bags are...

South Bay Duck Boat -Blind ground rule #1 recovered.

Dave, never liked batteries and salt water. I put in 12v bow and stern lights, bilge pump and under deck lighting. Couldn't remember to shut then off, then I had to change batteries if I remembered to bring them? Wrapped the stern lite in nylon camo cloth [ calelas ]. Lite shines thru very well.

What's on your Work Bench - MAY 2023

Steve, restored a manasquan duck boat in the 70's and made the motor mount out of laminated cca using two part epoxy. It is still in decent shape. My southbay motor mount was done with laminated marine ply in the 90's. I coated with west system and painted with lou tisch paint, it's not good...

Saved ..... back on the tidal waters

Lay on your back and look under the rear deck. Mine was hull #27 I think. Was glassed in hull with telephone pole numbers. I gave the boat to the grand kid of the original owner.

Saved ..... back on the tidal waters

Dave, I liked the spray shield Steve made and the shelf. I use the invisilounge for a seat. Moved tank and battery to the bow. Also made a removeable plywood shelf in bow to hold tank, battery and large anchor [ also rolled tarp for emergencies, thanks John Livoti}.. In the stern I have tool...
