    Giant Geese Decoy

Nice, and thank you for posting up the pics. Days gone by for sure. Is LS&B still in business ? Always liked the looks of their Whistler layout boats but could never afford one.

Dave, you can never have too much "stuff".

    Giant Geese Decoy

I'm pretty sure it was fiberglass. I don't believe they published the weight but that was in the days of 8 foot long truck beds so getting it into and out of the truck was at least a two man job as it took up most of the bed.

    Giant Geese Decoy

No. I think he is talking about that 6 foot long decoy you used to get from Herters. I guy had one for sale on ebay about a year ago, and I was half tempted but the wife put the kibosh on that. There was a set of doors on the top of the thing that you flung open to shot but I don't remember how...

Need advice on fiberglass and options

Thanks Steve. I'll look into U.S composites. William I do all of my glass work outside in the garage with the door open. I made that mistake once and will never do it again.

Need advice on fiberglass and options

Guys I'm building another open water layout for next season. I have always used Polyester Resin for the fiberglass application, and have always had good results and good adhesion. However when I finished my boat last season I used Z-Poxy finishing resin diluted down to water consistency with...

    Whatcha Listening To?

Lately I've been on a kick listening to a lot of Brian Auger. Man can he make that Hammond sing.

    65 y/o pheasant hunter dies

I have been looking at a bag from Meditac. It is an EMT trauma bag packed to the hilt with everything you need and frankly more than I would ever hope to use. It's only around 100.00 dollars but I'm going to order one soon, maybe even this week. When you are out in the boonies and something...

    65 y/o pheasant hunter dies

I read that a 65 y/o pheasant hunter dies after being shot in the leg. At 10:00 am the call went out for assistance. At 10:12 the helicopter was called. The helicopter was 25 minutes out. At 10:30 the hunter died from his wound. 18 minutes to exsanguinate and he was gone before they could air...

    Hunting the weather

Thank you guys for all the well wishes. I am back home now, tired but alive and that is a good thing. I can tell you that I coded twice in the hosp., so I am grateful to still be walking this earth. My hunting is done until spring turkey, but I'm ok with that. In case anyone is wondering I live...

    D.C. SANFORD and Wildfowler Decoys

Steve I don't know if you collect other brands of decoy anchors, however FB here in Erie Pa. has some "Jack Sweet" anchors up for sale here. I thought about picking up one myself but I really don't have a collection. I did have a collection of Navy style boat anchors but I have divested myself...

Arkansas Opener Video from Public Land

I have read that all the surface drives now get to places you could only dream of getting to in days gone by, and ducks get no rest spots anymore. This video would seem to bear that out. All the whooping and hollering going on is ridiculous and helps cement the "typical hunter" stereotype. This...

    Winter is here. Who’s hunting?

Layout hunting Lake Erie this a.m. in my home made big water layout. I wish I knew how to post pictures so I could show you the boat. Something special about hunting out of your own creation.

    Whatcha Listening To?

Been getting into a lot of Blues and listening to: Little Milton, ZZ Hill, and Bobby Blue, to name a few. Some great stuff.

    Winter is here. Who’s hunting?

Can barely get out the back door with all the snow. I live outside of Erie Pa., in Girard. 29" of the stuff fell in 12 hours on Thanksgiving. A slight break yesterday afternoon, and now it's back this morning. I'm guessing at least 3 feet on the ground now and they predict another 10-20" today...

Beautiful, however the bids seem really low. I'm guessing the price will go up closer to the end of the auction.

Punt and Punt Gun For Sale

Here is a case where you can truly say: "they don't make em like that anymore". Where the ropes enter the bow, is that one solid block of wood there or how day do dat ?
