Something you may not have considered

Pretty neat. Wouldn't mind having one for display purposes for sure. Guys were pretty smartly dressed to go out to the marsh. Thanks for sharing this.

    Careful with those carving knives

I hope you have had a Tetanus shot in recent years, like less than 10, because if you haven't you should at least call your Dr., and advise them of what happened. An 1-1/4" deep puncture wound is far from a scratch.

    New Book

Agree. I had to put my old Block Head Chessie down 12 years ago and it was too painful to ever have to repeat that process. From time to time I do think about another dog but I just can't bring myself to do it, and like you said neither of us is getting any younger.

    Rail hunt

Great hunt fellas. Never had the opportunity to hunt Rails before. What do they fly like? Do they hold tight and then explode or do they get jittery and bump from a distance? Looks like good eating.

**POSTPONED SUNDAY ONLY! 41st Annual Tuckerton Decoy & Gunning Show September -24th

Great old video on the show. No Sitka and those cameras were probably all old manual 35mm when you had to do way more than just point and shoot. Some of those decoys are probably worth a bundle now days.

    Anti hunters win in Australia

I can't worry about what goes on in foreign countries for hunting. How many hunters are there in Australia overall? I'll bet the number is shockingly low. What they do there in no way foreshadows what we do here. If it did we would have universal healthcare and other benefits we can only dream...

Old Reliable is back in service

Those Yammy 2 strokes were the best motor ever made. Always started and were tough as nails.....glad she's up and running again.

Who made it out this morning??

I'm at OBX for the week. Enjoying the sun and sand with no plans to hunt geese until the regular season rolls around.

States Ranked by Percent of Hunting Citizens

There was a time in the not too distant past when Penna. put one million hunters into the woods for the opening day of deer. Those days are long gone. Would have been nice to see what the average hunter age is. It's probably right up there.

1970 HERTER'S Catalog... how many remember

I still have a pair of their insulated Bib Overalls in brown camo, but the dam dryer has shrunk them and they don't seem to fit anymore. Can't bring myself to part with them though.

    Feeling Human Again

I had it in the middle of July and it was horrible. Started off with a toothache which then turned into a neck and and I went downhill from there. I had every symptom you could imagine, but the constant cough and congestion, which I still have a little of, was the worst. All I can say is thank...

    Hunting Land Access

Well we have just lost another prime goose hunting field here in Girard Pa., with Erie County cancelling the farmers lease, to build another "shovel ready" industrial park of 240 acres. This field has been a go to field for over 40 year and I have hunted it with success more times than I can...

    Sandhill decoys

All that's left is the Giant Sandhill windsocks. Hand painted heads by Jim Jones, the guy who started Silo Socks. Too beautiful to sit in my garage another season.Always covered the heads with socks to protect them. Really hope someone can use these. 125.00 plus shipping pm me your number and...

Beautiful work. I wish someone would have given me a "toy" like that when I was a kid.

Kansas - Another Domino About To Fall In the Push to Reduce Non-Residents in Favor of Residents

I guess it's a good thing I live in NW Penna.. There are not tons of people from out of state wanting to hunt in Pa.. Gee I wonder why?

    How things have changed

I have a spot that's a death march to and from. As you get closer to the water the grasses are 6 foot tall or better and there is no path of any kind except for the one you make. After hunting one day last year, it was cold and snowy, as I was walking out ( if you can call it that) I fell and...

    Upland adventure help please

I don't believe that they are too friendly to non-French speaking people in Quebec. They don't really even consider themselves to be a part of Canada from what I have been told. My son and his girlfriend went there a couple of years ago and said although Quebec was nice, the people were rude and...

    Hunting Land Access

Duck hunting here in NW Pa. was never spectacular, but things have changed and not for the better. The first thing is that farmers now harvest corn completely different from how they did it 10 years ago. Every field is now chopped about 6" off the ground and there isn't a scrap of waste corn for...
