Very nice! Yesterday I was driving back one of the roads through some private property to meet a friend and do some dog training. Saw a huge gobbler with a thick rope of a beard, accompanying four hens. One of the hens had a pretty decent beard on her too!
I got into the HRC game last spring, and I really enjoyed it; so much so that I am now planning to run several tests this spring to finish out my dog's HR and then HRCH titles. I told my wife it is so he can become a canine gigalo and I can be his pimp...lol. On a serious note though it is a...
Jim,
I did a kick butt wild game dinner last April. We had a lare grill/cooker/smoker on hand and a bonafide chef. People were asked to bring a wild game meat/fish of their choice, or a side dish/dessert. BYOB. Also had a Texas Hold'em tournament in conjunction. We started at about 2:30...
I'm familiar with the boat now from it's journey around the continental US...lol. I would definitely agree with doing somethin to stiffen the floor amd add some floatation. With only 1/8" of fiberglass chop between you and rocks, logs, etcetera, I would be worried about a puncture. My old...
Phil, does your boat have any kind of sub floor in it or is it just the outer hull and deck/cockpit joined together? My recollection of the TDB's I've seen is that the have a floor in them that is filled with floatation between the outer hull and the floor. Might be part of why you are seeing...
Regardless of your feelings for Strangis, I just don't understand why you would "hope for the worst with this new venture" and wish ill will on another human being's, (the financier of the new magazine), business venture and finances.
Do you know who is backing the new magazine? To me it seems...well, at the very least petty, spiteful, and vindictive to wish the worst for someone you do not know. Perhaps the financier knows Jay Stangis in a completely different context than you.
If he had to lean back, the stock was probably still a tad long for him. You are so right though; every youngster is different and it really does come down to the size and strength of the individual as to which is the best choice.
Not a big fan of O/Us or single shots for that reason; the light weight makes them recoil harder and the youngster can become recoil shy real fast. A friend of mine's son is AFRAID to shoot a gun now because of recoil issues. A gas operated semi-auto with a youth friendly stock and barrel...
The general consensus is that is what is happening to the Back Ducks in the East. Seems the Black Duck hens have an affinity for those handsome drake Mallards and will choose them over Black Duck drakes given the opportunity. We still shoot several Blacks every year that appear to be pure...
Al, that bottom bird looks an awful lot like a Black/Mallard Hybrid I killed this year. When I pulled the trigger I swore it was a Black Duck. I realized right away it was a hybrid when Kane brought it back to me.
