    NDR- Swan push toy

Very cool Dave, somebody gave me a little mallard flapper years ago when my boy was little and he loved running around the garage with it. I gave it my neighbor and his kids ran all around with it too. It's a great little toy for the kids!

    Game Farm Mallards/Duck DNA Results

You are correct it does have a white edge on the speculum. I agree it would interesting to see the correlations between the results from other black ducks and their speculums.

Brad Bortner is on the Duck Season Somewhere podcast and What I'm Listening To Today

Brad, I listened to your podcast with RR last night & this morning, you provided great insight into AHM and what goes into the whole process. I was surprised wit all the questions Ramsey asked you, he didn't ask why some states can shoot wood ducks in their teal seasons and others can't. Maybe...

    Game Farm Mallards/Duck DNA Results

SJ Fairbank, this is the wing from the Black Duck I submitted for the study, with the genetic, certificate. In the study at least for me I believe only the first two ducks you were asked to submit pictures with the sample when you entered it into the app. It might be beneficial in the future...

    Game Farm Mallards/Duck DNA Results

Charles, did your hybrid black/mallard show signs of being a hybrid? Yes, I saw the leucistic Black Duck, that was a very cool bird. My hunting partners wanted me to send in some shoveler samples but I declined.

    Duck cleaning

I have an older model plucker called "The Plucker" I don't use it much. Really only used it a few times, it threw feathers everywhere. Worked decent for ducks, but didn't do well with big geese. Every year I think about getting it out and trying again. After moving multiple times, I've lost...

Which pattern would you rather hunt with?

Cody, I switched to BOSS several years ago, after shooting Hevi Steel Bismuth, before it became a steel load. I've tried many chokes, I like a Jeb's choke. Each gun patterns differently. I'd probably run that Full choke in your case.

    Vintage Doubles In My Care

Eric, Those are both beautiful examples of the American Doubles, I love the Prince of Wales grip on either SxS or O/U's. While not a vintage SxS I've always wanted a Ruger Gold Label, the price on those have shot up considerably in recent time, but like you said a guy can dream.

    What's on your Workbench - JUNE 2023

George & Vince, thank you both for your concern and I appreciate you guys pointing it out. Unfortunately, that saw is a combo vertical/horizontal metal band saw, and that height is the guard's lower extent. I might have to make an extension if he wants to continue making anything. It was a...

    Silhouette patterns

Thanks Steve, I left my son a couple of foam decoys today before I left for work and told him to try and draw the outline, so we'll see what he comes up with. lol I'd like to get a redhead and canvasback for him to work on, since those have easy solid color schemes. We probably won't hunt them...
