What are some of the really good marine epoxies for gluing up decoys? Are any of the marine epoxies any good from Ace, Lowe's or Home Depot?

We built one that we anchored out using cables. It worked pretty good until some jackleg shot the barrels full of holes. After that it lost it's luster and we never fixed it. If I was going to make another one I would use something besides barrels for floatation.

I see a refined Lamp Black and Solid Covering Lamp Black. What's the difference? Using for decoys.

I would never enter a contest because what I hunt over would be pulled in an instant because it would not fit within the rules. Also because most shows judge in a pool or a washtub and not in an environment where I would hunt.

Black model paint on the end of a small paint brush for the pupil if it doesn't have one. Krylon, Rustoleum or model spray for the rest. I have had problems with acrylic paint seperating from the eye but have not noticed a problem with enamel. I normally apply a few coats of enamel. I would think you wouldn't have to worry about it either way if you are using the method with the clay. If I am making a true hunting decoy just...

I have been torn between making one of these and a saddle maker's vice. Might make both.

I have decided pancake decoys would fit my needs better than taller decoys. I plan to make a rig of 4 dozen of them in various species. Tried searching for photos on the web but not much luck. Looking for photos for inspiration. Anyone have any photos of your pancake style decoys? Thanks!
