Unbelievable season congrats

I have one on my Bauer boat as well. It definitely helps get the bow down and cruise at a lower rpm. Sometimes it does get annoying when trying to cover the engine, but a piece of burlap and some extra marsh grass will do the trick. I think it’s worth putting it on.

I would say that the end with the longer covering would be the bow

We have some cut corn, but the problem is that it’s so warm with these south winds they want to be in the hay still.

And that’s a wrap! Ended the resident season with 239 birds. Not the big push we hoped for at the end, but had a few calendar birds come through. Regular season will be here before we know it. Time to get the grinder out and get to work before the venison starts to fill the freezer.

I feel ya I just bought a house in May and getting married in June. Shit never ends, you finally think you’ll have some free time and nope something pops up lol

Corns getting cut too normally we shoot 100+ birds just in the last week, but when it’s 80 out and blowing out of the south with birds that have been here for 2 weeks it’s definitely not worth a plane ticket lol. If it was last season I’d say get here tomorrow hahaha

Been tough with the south winds and warm temps but still staying after these stale birds! 180 birds for the season so far.

We’ve always grassed our grass boats on Long Island where I hunt the salt marshes on the south shore. I learned from my dad and his friends who have been hunting the bays for over 40 years. Even what grass to use was always a topic for discussion but thatch was always the best over salt hay.

I don’t have a rack but I keep my decoys up in the bow so it helps get the boat up on plane easier. More weight in the back will make the boat plow more. Also if one falls off the front you’ll most likely see it were as in the back you probably won’t notice. Again, I don’t have a decoy rack on...
