    Mag Mallard Head source

sorry, was late when I posted. To me the cut down goose head doesn’t look great. I restle coated five bodies already. They’re all just gonna get a hacked up Steve Sanford paint job .(not saying Steve’s a hack, my interpretation will be!). I just want a mallard head that’s proportionate to the...

I used a Philips screwdriver thru the head hole to help hold the decoy. The wire would be a good idea too. Unfortunately we aren’t getting over 70 this whole holiday weekend. Once I have 2 coats on each bird , I planned on putting them back into the attic to cook for a month or so. Tony

    Mag Mallard Head source

My wife bought me a goose mold in January. It came with a goose head mold, I cut one down thinking I could make it work but it’s not quite right. There’s the molds on eBay and there’s a mag mallards head that’s 7” bit no picture of it . For $70-$80 I forget how much, I don’t wanna buy it and...

New migratory bird regs in FL this year

Michigan has 9 day season for teal. Not sure what last year was. Where I hunt people get them it’s just usually to hot for me, plus kids football cheer eats my September/October😫

The goose mold o got in January I popped out a few with 2lb foam and walnut coated them with TB3. They will be geese or super mag mallards that will live a cushy life . Bout the walnut from harbor freight. I will probably use the TB3 and walnuts for the herters. Interesting about restle coating...

Jason and Steve. I think the restle coating will happen. These will be on mainlines and we typically leave decoys on the lines and pile them in the bow of the boat. Steve, do you think that the epoxy is that much better than TB3? Significant increase in price btwn the two. -Tony

That might happen this season, but still have to finish a dozen or so super mag mallards that I’m making from a goose mold I got off eBay. Have 4 restle coated but stoped molding this past winter because I was having to use more foam because of temps. Plus have to help hunting partner repaint...

    Old Herters

Well Rod/Kevin they do self right. After catching up on sleep I went to try and catch some pike and small mouth and tossed one in a few times and they flipped over. They seem to mostly be the pinkish foam variety. Idk where that dates them, but I will say they’re in better shape than majority...

    Old Herters

Rod, I honestly haven’t pulled them out of the truck yet. Ended up going back to work, working till 6 am ( work for the utility company) then came home, drove son to school and napped. Definitely checking to see today. We hunt big water and it could be a bunch of trouble fixing flipped birds...
