I made a similar shelf for the D&K Scooter. Well, actually I repurposed one I had made for the Burdick Scull years ago. I added outdoor carpet to the bottom so that is slide easier and would not be wood on wood, or in the original case, wood on fiberglass.

It certainly would be, but we are hunting open water, and there is 4 to 8 ft of water on top of the 4 to 8 feet of mud. We never get out of the boat.
