    Crud on the lower unit

Though I've never tried it on a motor, I wonder if toilet bowl cleaner would work. Clorox brand seems to work the best for me.

Need some ideas for attaching droppers to long lines...

Ditto what Phil posted. My Memphis Net 5" clips never slide on the long line. I use 1/4" diamond braid nylon from Decoy Rigs.

    New Home Waters

Congrats on your retirement Larry, I wish you the best. Retirement is definitely all it's cracked up to be. Though I've been retired 8 years, I'm just now finding "new home waters ". Not in a new location but with my first ever Kayak. Already 3 fish fries from a spot I never fished before...

FDA branch reviews 500 cases of DCM in canines, linking them to sixteen suspect food brands

I agree Phil. Not alot of substance and the author keeps changing recommendations. 560 dogs out of 77,000,000 is hardly a significant result. Maybe something to keep an eye on but IMO shouldn't keep you up at night.

    Source for free Topo Maps

That's nice to know Larry, thanks. A couple other resources I like for general exploration are the state Gazetteers by DeLorme and the GAIA app on my phone/computer.

I think this is the toughest kind of upland hunting

Hahaha, sounds like a great technique. I used to have a farming related cap that I'd wear when gaining permission - can't exactly remember but it was either a tractor or seed corn cap. I learned early on to never be in a hurry with farmers, they love to talk and the longer you talk the better...

I think this is the toughest kind of upland hunting

Very nice Dani, thanks for putting this photo story together. I sure miss good dog work and can TOTALLY do without the rattlers. But a question, I know you usually hunt with Steve, who is the grizzled old fart with the beard in the truck? Lol.

Anyone have out of state plans for next season?

Hmmmm, I don't think I've ever hunted Iowa.

Anyone have out of state plans for next season?

Of course Phil, but pool 9 isn't out of state. Plus, how could I disappoint Otter.

Anyone have out of state plans for next season?

Not many plans for feathered game but Newfoundland in October for moose again (long bow). Texas for 3+ months starting 1st of December for Reds and Specks plus the possibility of a hog and/Javelina hunt along the way. Of course ducks at Aransas NWR or the Laguna Madre are a possibility also...

Those blade baits I made earlier seem to be working.

    Nice fish Dave, congratulations.

Wait for me big man. I will see you again someday.

Oh Dani, so sorry to read this. My condolences on your loss. What a wonderful tribute to the life you and Drake made together.

    Sous Vide for Turkey...

I've never been disappointed with any of Hanks recipes. I also made a Turkey Leg stew/soup of his that is my new favorite.

    Sous Vide for Turkey...

Looks terrific Tod. I've only done s.v with venison - good but needed color of course. I found a recipe for poached turkey breast on Hank Shaw's web site after taking a hen last fall - best turkey I've ever had. As you've found, low, moist heat makes a huge difference. Good eats.

    I?m confused and unhappy

I disagree. We do not need another hunting only forum. In the past 20+ years this forum has been, for the most part, self policing. Most topics, whether DR or NDR are acceptable as long as the participants are courteous and respectful. Yes, now and then, we've strayed beyond those...

    SD Turkey Hunting

Good job Kyle, congrats. I tried for years to take a turkey with my compound - unsuccessfully. Ten years ago I went back to traditional archery and have been attempting to take a turkey with my long bow and ghillie suit since then. Finally came together last year - twice. A tom in the spring...

    Black Brant III Value

Ditto what Tod posted. I've got about $2500 (2002 dollars) in my BB3 and have never expected to even get that back if I ever sell it. They are good, solid boats that can last a lifetime but few people value them as much as they're worth.
