Douglas, don't think the pond box is made to row or retreive birds. I have two, they are ment to tow or wade to a spot and set up on shore. Don't reaaly think they are that stable. Any one else use it to retrieve birds?
Eric, Steve had some cool looking shoving oars at the duck boat show. I have a old Herters duckbill push pole with a brass hook for decoy lines. My crab pot hook is wood with aliminum hook, it floats [ lost a few, didn't float ].
Dave, are you shooting 2 men out of the boat? Grass is high. I shoot one person in each boat and have a low profile. Will see the boat and you at the show. Like the travel cover.
Always great to see another boat restored. Also all the new innovations you come up with. My southbay went to the original family that purchased it originally. Have a project going now.
Opening oysters and the knife slipped between my fingers about two inches deep. Worst part was putting q tips with peroxide in there to clean it out, hurt more than the slip. Don't know how many times it took to come out clean. Better than going to the hospital to get it done. I use a towel now...
Eric, I'm out on Long Island, 30 miles from Montauk. Covid has started up here again and filling up the hospital again. Try to cool it a little, my buddy got it 3 times, really took a toll on his body. Stay healthy.
I hunt small marshes mostly, use 6 mallard / black decoys with two field mallards on the marsh. If I hunt up near John L, I bring a dozen brant [ very few brant out my way ].
Dave, takes guts to paint a new engine. Looks great, great stencil job. My nephew stenciled my SBay entirely, bow to stern, could have hunted it with out grass. I still use burlap potato bag over the motor to break up the outline. I dip it in the water so it doesn't blow in the wind. Bags are...
