you can build a lighter & stronger boat with the good high density foam core or the honeycomg cores but as already said the foam material is a little more pricey but well worth it some of the same material I have used before building a airplane
very nice getting a banded bird photo is like actul picking up your duck and seeing that band , I agree it would have been really cool to get the number (by zoom) and call them in just to report where you saw it
tig is the way to go but the machine is expensive and I don't have access to one the spool gun is also easier because you get less birds nest when you start learning. a mig is what I use all the time you need a short torch 6-8and the teflon wire feed tube instead of the metal one keep your...
That is a really nice but way to shinny for me :) you get the people who are aginast everthing just like with duckhunting or heck I do it with "those Darn bass boat guys" and some areas are resitirced or you have to have a permit just a way for the govt to make some more money if you ask me...
dave,
the cedar strips would be lighter and allow for the round chines you could use a light glass inside and decking but add a few layers mabe even a kevlar layer to the bottom . plywood f course would be easy to work with and cheap. what about a plain soild fiberglass hull and deck (still...
Allot has to do with the prop you use and the gear box if you run a car motor the aircraft engines are more for smaller liter boats now days. the bottoms most use polyemer (basically a thick plastic sheet) if can be replaced if needed but does last a long time and makes the boat slipper, kinda...
well here is my two cents worth :) the pull idea to hang layouts is good but you need to spam a cross brace in the rafters and secure them that way I disturbs the load , The lift area I would not strap around like that picture shows with a boat of weight but rather have a set of lift bars under...
here are a few more angles it pretty simple once you get over cutting the hole in your boat to start with :)
these are not the greatest pictures but there what I have on the computer it should give you a ideal of the different angle of the tunnel on the same boat
First off I want to make sure you know by adding a tunnel the boat loses displacement and will set deeper , you can counter this by adding "Pods"
that size boat I would have a 3' min tunnel and probally at least 4' if you have room. make a insert that you can just cut out the area and weld...
what kinda of boat length width and size weight and hp motor are you going to run ? what is your jackplate set back ?
It's 1:14 am and we just got back for all day in the glades I check back later tommorrow or monda to see if I can answer your questions once you give a few details
