    A300 Cabela's Black Friday Sale - Purchase......

Just beware you,ll not get the drop at comb with a A300 that you get with your humpback A5. May or may not matter to you but will effect the way you shoot it. The A300 platform is good, i,ve got one in 20 gauge, that shoots great for me now after buttstock mods to get D.A.C.

    Boat blind ideas?

Think your going to find running boat with walls dropped down like that is going to come back to haunt you. Probably going to be constantly wet when you flip them up for use. Look's neat though way you've formed to hull lines but for actual use I would have left uprights basically straight and...

    Atlantic Brant hunt

Years ago we use to shoot them when waterfowl hunting behind Assateague Island, Md. Tried cooking them a couple times after breasting and not a fan. Froze one for an upcoming taxidermy class I was taking late winter. Unbelievable the smell when I opened that birds up come class time. Stunk to...

Check out their blind mounting tutorial on utube and it will give you some good ideas for frame and mounting design. One thing they do that I don,t do is attach bottom of blind covering to boat. I,ve found a lenght of scd. 40 1" conduit attached to bottom of wall covering the length of wall...

Marsh Stake for Staking out Boat during Tide Change

Need a quick spud pole? 3/4" EMT Electrical conduit cut to what ever length you desire. I keep a couple at 8' in my 2072 for staking off when boat blinds set up. We,re cursed with very soft river bottom mud in river I hunt. On bottom end flatten in a vise last 2" . Cut on an angle for easier...

    BBSB Pond Box Build

You could always take along a sled similar to the Beavertail and put dog in that in a dog blind to one side The larger sleds will easily hold a dog plus dog blind and easily towable behind your pond bx if required. Or build the dog his own little boat!

    BBSB Pond Box Build

As far as dog in boat build your dodger so dog can lay on deck behind you. Safest for both him and you. Or if you,ve leg room position dog behind you in cockpit. Would require a rod from side to side of combing inside for your back rest to lay against. Would probably require dodger to have 2...

Need advice on shooting a .410 for ducks this year to reduce recoil

For the Tristar there is no screw on replacement mag cap weight. What I did was order the Graco Recoil Reducer/Counter weight from MGW for the Beretta 303. This has a bolt that threads thru a hole in mag cap into back of weight for attachment. A drop of Blue Loctite on threads and its good to...

Need advice on shooting a .410 for ducks this year to reduce recoil

Add some weight to that 410 to dampen what recoil there is. And install a Limbsaver pad. Make sure when you add weight to add both front and rear if your satisfied with current balance point. On my Tristar G2 28 gauge I found it a little less barrel heavy than I like so I added an 8 oz. Recoil...

Found one. Looking for mec 600 28ga reloader

What I did was find a cheap used Mec 600 and bought a 28 gauge conversion kit to change it over. Many of the 12 gauge Mec 600,s can be found for around $75, especially on Market place. Might find one even cheaper at a yd. sale. Did the same for a 3" 20 gauge one that stays set up for 3".

Advice on sneakbox - AA Broadbill or MLB Wigeon

To make an easy job of grassing decks use black plastic bird netting from hardware store. I simply drop a section cut to length over cockpit and cut out center area of cockpit where applicable. Of course trim outside edge to shape of boat. Attack your grassing to that via black zip ties . The...

Does anybody hunt out of a 20' modified jon?

I,m assuming your layout hunting is in bigger /rougher water. Have you considered a Lund or similar sized hull instead of a flat bottomed jon. Much smoother ride and less spray in cockpit in the rough. Theres other manufacture's that also make v hulls geared towards waterfowl hunting. Wide open...
