Info on Breaking Ice with 14 Classic TDB from TDB owners

A little of both fresh & salt Steve. I know the techniques as i,ve broken plenty thru my years . Many, many years ago when ice was more frequent the little 14" Steury I used as a boat blind would require a bow repair each end of season due to ice cutting the Fiberglass but that v bow cut ice...

Info on Breaking Ice with 14 Classic TDB from TDB owners

Anthony, has the classic 14 always had the kevlar reinforced hull? I remember it in the ads from the old L.L.Bean catalogs but didn,t know if that continued thru out its production.

Info on Breaking Ice with 14 Classic TDB from TDB owners

Always wanted one of the 14' TDB hulls. How well , if at all, do they break and inch or two of ice? I,ve broke plenty in different hulls so not really concerned with techniques, just if hull will get damaged severely? Doesn,t happen often in my area but of course its the best gunning if you can...

    Do it all boat?

That 12' Creek boat without the Battery bx in middle has tugged at my "need one " feelings for a while. I believe they're Roto Molded so should be fairly light weight. Just about perfect to piggy back off a bigger boat.

    Launching

Someone on here years ago made push pole shafts from Bamboo. If I recall they heated the shaft and what material weaped out made them waterproof. Neat way to make a push pole. Can add any foot required to it. I've shied away from closet rod after one broke on me and became a pungee that almost...

    Boat blind ideas?

If you build and decide to cover with Cordura Nylon Ebay is your friend. Usually there deals on there buying Cordura buy the yard. I've built several thru the years for various boats and you want someone who can sew. Fortunately I've convinced my wife to handle that area after I design and cut...

    Boat blind ideas?

Commercial blinds by Beavertail & Mud buddy work good. If you hunt with a dog you'll need to add a dog door in beavertail. If building yourself build something along lines of Mud Buddy style as its easiest to construct. The important thing on any of them is to have your brushing close in over...

    Do it all boat?

So now you need a Little marsh boat to piggy back on your motorized duck boat! Something that will push pole easily.

    Opening Weekend

Been probably 8 years since I used it but at the time my agent didn,t flinch. I just told him I needed to be able to tow my boat while my pickup was in shop and they gave me a f150 4 whl. drive with receiver./ I used my hitch bar.

    Do it all boat?

A boat to those specs hasn,t been built. Thats the reason most duck hunters end up with a small fleet! A boat for each specific need.

    Starting the AA Broadbill project

It will flat out fly with a 25 . Had a 2 stroke 25 on my old Blackjack first time around. Expect to go in the 30,s easily.

    Boat ID - Sportcraft??

Almost looks like someone cut down a 13' Boston Whaler or similar hull and built a custom cap for it. Never seen a production hull like that top view.

    Modern side by side

Picked up a Tristar 20 Bristol about 3 years ago. Been a great little gun so far with quality above its price. I have shot some woodies with it but generally I use it for crows & upland birds. As far as a waterfowl gun you may want to look into an older Browning BSS or Winchester 23. Both...

    Marsh Seat Recommendations

For ease in carrying I use an Avery style marsh seat but I removed original seat and made one that's 12" x 12" instead of their narrow seat. Also padded it thickly and recovered in Cordura nylon. My frame is aluminum though compared to Avery's powder coated steel. Its the type with a push pole...

Totally NDR - removing White Pine tree Sap from wooden decking

Amazing. Thats the only thing that will remove pine sap from my pickup. Unfortunately Where I park in driveway has a large pine over head. Sucker drips sap year round . Guess it bonds better on wood than metal.

Totally NDR - removing White Pine tree Sap from wooden decking

Goof Off will remove it without harming under finish. Not sure you want to go that route though with the size of your removal.
