    Derlict sailing sneakbox

John Gardner's book Classic Small Craft has a section on building a sneakbox. It has two piece frames overlapped. Every frame used the same curve, positioned for height. TH plans took me a while to figure out, but its definitely unique!

VERY Marginally Duck Related: Funeral Pyre Bill in Maine

I have a running joke with a friend about this! Her one responsibility in life ( she is a hobby jumper) is to learn to shoot a flaming arrow to touch off my pyre. Sending her the link now! Thank you.

    Classic double

Patrick, That gun pictures is an early Fox Philadelphia gun . The pin is a dead giveaway. I would be very surprised if it was a 2 3/4 gun, unless it was modified later.

I made one similar to that a few years ago, except with a y board configuration. It worked well on Eider.

    Winchester Ammo "Rebate" Hoops. I.

For what its worth, because I hunt a lot of salt water the brass on my shells gets rusty if I leave them in the box (to the point they won't cycle). I will throw the shells in a quart sized zip lock bag, and then spray them lightly with CLP. Eliminates the rust issue, and might eliminate the box...

Absolutely shocking the difference in a year

I still have to blink twice when I see you talking about woodcock in Florida...But if you saw any, that's great! I only saw two during season in Maine this year, and just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on either. hopefully the birds will like that new growth, and repopulate!

duckboats.net is 10 (now 20). Can you believe it?

Wow, 20 years. Seems like it can't be true until I think back about all I have learned, and all the wonderful people I've met through this site. But twenty years? That would make me... Never mind, I'm still younger than Sutton!

    Making home made ice eater???

Mike, I haven't seen the design, but my first thought would be can you cut off the top instead of the bottom? That way you wouldn't have to touch the factory seal?

    Hello, Materials, and Plans question.

Eric, The only plans I am aware of for scull boats are for a merrymeeting style in John Gardners Classic Small Craft book.

    Old School Long-Line molding

Don't oil it! If the hot lead hits the oil you'll have an explosion on your hands, or lead spatter at the very least! The different rates of expansion between the lead and the cast iron should let it fall out of the pan when cool.

Banks Boats and Duck Water Boats

Werner, I cant say anything about either boat, but some advice I can give regarding the Wrangler Unlimited. I would be very careful pushing the 3500lb GVW with it. I have one now that I tow a 1100-1200lb teardrop with, and every hill is a challenge! I love the vehicle for everything else, but it...
