Arkansas Opener Video from Public Land

I guess I have a different take. When I was younger my Dad, his best buddy and his son would hunt a very popular place on the Mississippi backwaters down near Wabasha MN. Opening day at the ramp was exciting and filled with adrenaline. The ramp was small and the line long. Everyone, for the...

    Alumacraft ducker

Horgan is out of business and has been for some time. I still have mine but am considering selling g it as 4 duckboats is too many. If your near the twin cities, come take a look. If you search this site you will find photos of the boat

    Let's Hear Your Worst Job

Had plenty of worse jobs. Best job I had was when I was in graduate school and took a fill in job as a student loan officer at a school of nursing. 100 females, No men. I was single. They were lonely. When their payment was late they had to talk to me. Lots of offers in lieu of payment but never...

    Oh boy

Anyone ever pee in their duck calls? Asking for a friend. Thought today would be a great day with the weather we've had the past couple of days. So foggy out no ducks are flying. Bummer. Mark W

The boat is a Lund Ducker. Not sure of the year as it does not have a HIN associated with it. These were built in the 50's and 60's I believe. Picked mine up this past winter and spent a few months repairing and puting it back together. For what I need this boat to do, it works well for me. Mark

Out checking if any ducks have come down yet and sure enough, this guy shows up. Stood there for 30 seconds. Long enough to get my phone out and take this pic. Then he slowly wanders back into the woods. Love this new boat set up. For me right back to this spot with zero walking. Last year it...

People always ask me;"What's a Pokeboat?"

Just hunted out of mine the past couple of days. Gets me into spots that bigger boats can't get to. I can load about 18 decoys, a chair of some kind, gun, and gear bag. Decoys sit on the bow and stern and held in place with bungees. Love this boat. Another one is Wilderness Systems Chesapeake...

Input on two possible boat blind ideas

Thanks for the note. I have a Lund Ducker which is a different boat than the Almnacraft Ducker. I too can't lay down anymore and need to sit up. I have seen may layout blinds on the sit on top Kayaks that look prety cool. Ascend H12 type of boats.

    TideWe Wader update

/In case anyone has an interest. My waders arrived the other day and had to try them on. Out of the box I can tell these are quality waders. They feel much more rugged than my last pair of Cabelas. 4 layers of waterproofing, lots of pockets and a front zipper. Fit is close to shoe size (I...

    Wader update

Seems all waders are hit and miss. Even seen some poor reviews of Simms (although quite a bit less but maybe that is because there are less people who own them). I like the ones recommended on here that were designed and built by oystermen. Twice the bucks of the tidewe and they are not near...

    Wader update

I went and tried on the Frogg Toggs at my local Fleet Farm. They had the version 2.0, not the current 3.0. I am a size 9 and my current waders are a size 9. Tried them on, and they were tight in the foot and ankle. Thought 10 would work though and ordered from Amazon as on the Frogg Togg...

Input on two possible boat blind ideas

How high does it go? I need to sit on a seat as hunting in the floor is just too hard these days.

Input on two possible boat blind ideas

About to start the blind build onto the ducker. While I really like the pop up blind I built for the 14" boat a few years back, it was pretty complicated and I don't need this in my life anymore. I am considering two different methods. The two hoop method or a scissors type of blind. I've...

    Waders - The usual question

Have been reading about the High N Dry waders. Like the kevlar in the knee area. Wish the butt had some reinforcement. $350 for unlined version is a bit pricey

    Waders - The usual question

I have owned various brathable waders over the years. Used to always buy the Cableas brand was they came with a lifetime warranty. If they leaked, I would replace them under warranty. If the next pair leaked, I just bought new. Got about 2-3 years out of a pair. My current waders leak...
