    Charter Fishing Question - NDR

Unfortunately, snook just took a hit with this cold snap, i've seen photos and video from north of here of a lot of dead snook, especially in the shallow canals.. Not saying it was catastrophic, but, combined with our abnormally low water temps, may impact snook fishing. Redfish, sheepshead and...

Here is a good example of why even with this cold snap, ducks dont have a reason to go south. No snow pack all the way across the border.

    Hunting / Fishing Boat

I don't follow their logic at all. The amount of foam or air-tight chambers needed to meet level flotation / safety requirements and how a hull without or without hard chines performs are completely unrelated. Other than the shape of the hull may dictate where they end placing the foam. Sorta...

    This Statisticians Take

Reminds me of the guys yelling “intentional short stopping” years ago. As if USFWS had enough money and land to significantly shortstop the migration. My opinion, and I’ve been in some aspect or another of natural resources and coastal management for 30+ years, is that the change in migration...

The videos I’ve seen, they are belly up dead. My understanding is they don’t last long in torpor.

Unfortunately, the python burrow up in a hole and can wait out a cold snap as long as its not too bad. The only thing keeping them as far south as they are is winter temps.

"He just wants my next slot snook as payment." After this freeze, that might be tricky! Y'all seeing a die-off? I hear scattered reports around Tampa and south, in the shallow canals.

Now what?! Boat blind storage for off season?

I come back on business about once a month but I dont see us moving back permanently. Where we end up depends on where our kids land. I lived in Daphne/Mobile from '97-2019. The changes in the area over those 20+ years was mind-boggling and the changes in the last 6 years even more so. Houses...

Cold Snap, how low did you go?

Lots of staff in our Nashville office lost power or had relatives that did. A colleague said the sound of tree branches and whole trees breaking from the weight of ice is something he wont forget.

Now what?! Boat blind storage for off season?

Nice blind! I was going to suggest hanging it from the ceiling. My boat blind has been hanging in my shed since I moved to Tampa in 2019. Sadness. Just make sure your shed is critter proof or keep the mouse / rat traps set. Always.

    Charter Fishing Question - NDR

Inshore, expect sheepshead, speckled trout and redfish. Possible grunts and Black Sea bass if in deeper water. Sheepshead are schooled up to spawn and the bite should be hot. Tipping depends, if just your crew and the guide, I view tips as optional. if you had a really good time and he/she...
