    Depth Finder and Navigation

YES!! This is what i did back in Mobile. Our dead lowest tides were usually in February, Id go out and find the center of the channel and drop pins down the center lines and then create a route. For some older GPS base maps, its the old base maps themselves that are not accurate, especially in...

    Shell Drake “Redbreasted Mergansers”

Don, I used similar approach on all my birds too, duck fingers are a great snack in the boat! BTW, sounds like our mom's came from the same cooking school. Loved my mom, but she destroyed many a good roast or porkchop by cooking them grey through and through!

    Depth Finder and Navigation

My advise is: 1. Get the largest screen size you can fit in your boat. Especially if you want to run a split screen with sonar and a map. 2. Get one with a basemap or capable of loading a basemap. I've run one without a base map for years and while better than no GPS, having a basemap is so much...

Cold Snap, how low did you go?

Bummer, hope you can find some open water somewhere. Ice-capped snow is not good for wildlife, makes food in-accessible for most species. Only benefits voles and mice since predators cant break through!

Nova Scotia, Newfoundland Moose Hunting - 2027?

Back in college, I hung out with a guy from ALaska. He said the most important thing about shot placement for moose was to make sure it was close to the truck. Thats all I got on the topic. :)

    Surface Drive vs Mud Motor

Have you thought about a jet drive? My experience with longtails was limited to areas with mud, sand & shell and lots of logs. We broke two props on logs over the course of ~10 years. And dealing with sand and shells, my partner would always have a spare prop, he would have to switch props...
