    Off topic, yet hunting related

Sorta related, kinda: We walked into our son's rental house, that he shares with 3 other electrical/aerospace engineers, and on the kitchen table is a large 3D printer, with boxes of parts, tools, filament, a filament dehumidifier and printed parts all over the table and adjacent bench. His...

    January workbench

Outstanding artwork! Completely understand why you took a break, but also glad to hear you are getting back into the game. I think you'll pull every GE within site distance with this pair! A long time ago, there was a thread on here about using a male GE with that pose in the spread next to a...

    Long line weight ideas

I’ve seen guys use old brake rotors for weights for beaver trapping slide wires. Probably good option for long lines too.

What new waders are you guys using?

This was the approach I always took, 3.5mm. My very first pair (Remingtons, bought in 1997) lasted 6 years. After that seemed like quality went down hill and I was happy to get 3 years of heavy use. Last 3 pairs I bought were all Magellans from Academy. They now hang in the shed, gathering dust...

    Drones

Unfortunately every technology ends up being used for morally questionable purposes. Which is why we end up with laws and regulations. And lots of disagreements on the laws and regulations. As a buddy of mine says, society has a bad case of humans.

Hunting from fishing boat without a blind

But it does make me wonder how elaborate a blind would need to be. you definately do not need a fancy expensive commercial boat blind. some camo netting maybe some fastgrass or native cane/grasses, and a little pvc, and you are in business.

Hunting from fishing boat without a blind

I agree, if there is any kind of pressure on them, I am not sure this would work in open water. Maybe if you were up against the shoreline or at least close to it. And the birds come in low. How about just draping the whole boat with a camo net? it would at least break up the outline and hide...
